Truagh Notes

Seniors: We were due to play Currin in the league last night, Wednesday. Our next game is the championship on Saturday 9th June against Monaghan Harps at 7pm in Emyvale.

Reserve B: We played 2 games over the last week. On Wednesday last we lost to Scotstown 0-9 to 0-16. Our team and scorers were: Jeremy Treanor; John McCarron, Aidan Coyle, Darren Todd; Justin Halligan, John Treanor, Brendan Treanor (0-1); Gary Feely (0-1), Niall McQuillan; Eoghan Kelly, Rory Treanor, Niall Rooney; Daniel Finnegan (0-4, 3f), Gary Todd (0-1), Chrissy Curran (0-2f). Subs Used: Martin Owens for Niall Rooney (HT), Kevin Treanor for Chrissy Curran (36mins), Darragh McKenna for Gary Todd (38mins) & Justin Halligan for Niall McQuillan (53mins). We then played Monaghan Harps on Saturday evening, recording our first win of the campaign with a comprehensive 6-14 to 2-6 scoreline. Our next game is on 13th June.

Reserve C: Our next game is on 15th June.

Reserve D: We lost to Eire Og last Monday night 3-7 to 5-8.  Our next game is on 13th june.

Minors: We resume the league on June 26th.

Well Done: to Adam Treanor who was part of the county minor team that beat Antrim last Sunday.  Along with the seniors, they play the semi-final on Sunday 24th June.

Lotto Jackpot €1,400: There was no winner this week’s jackpot of €1,200. The lucky 4 numbers were 1, 19, 22, 23. There were 1 match 3 winner receiving €200: Maureen Reilly . Sellers prize: Josie Brady & Camogie Club.  Next jackpot draw is worth €1400. Check team: Josie’s.

CPR/AED TRAINING: There will be a training day coming up in early July in St.Mellans . Anyone interested in doing this course please contact Eilish Treanor on 0877857680 or email treanor.eilish@gmail.com. More details later.

Cairde: Cairde jackets are now being distributed to all current members. Our club cairde is now in year 3 and remains an essential source of funding for the development of our facilities. New members are very welcome to join. Again, we thank all those who contribute to this scheme as they are assisting greatly in the progression of amenities utilised by young and old of the parish.

Club Shop: The club shop is open each Friday evening between 7-8pm. Sale rail with Hoodies, T-shirts, Water-Proof Track Bottoms, Rain Jackets and Padded Jackets. For that special occasion why not purchase a Gift Voucher. Many items to choose from.

U-16: We beat Castleblayney  last week 5-14 to 2-7. Our team and scorers were: Tommy O’Brien, Shane Treanor, Aaron Treanor (0-4), Emmet O’Neill; Gary McCaffrey (1-1), James Deery, Niall Myles (0-1); Shane Treanor (0-1), Noel Flood (0-1) ; Mattie Flood (0-1), Caolan McGee (0-1), Darren Sherlock; Fergal Rafferty (1-3),  Michael McCarron (2-0), Ryan Mohan (1-0). Subs Used : Ciaran Raffertty, Gary McKenna, Gary McKenna, Dean Connolly, James McKenna & James Treanor.

U14: Our U14a Team play Emyvale on Saturday 2nd June in St Mellans at 1.15pm, Players please assemble at 12.30pm. The U14b Team play Clones on Saturday 2nd June in St Mellans at the earlier time of 12pm. Players are asked to be there for 11.15am.

U-12: Check with management.

U-6, 8 & 10: Training every Thursday evening in St. Mellans from 7-8pm.

Hurling:

Seniors –SHL starts on May 31st away to Carrickmacross at 7.45pm. Training Tuesday and Thursday.

 

Camogie:

 

Juveniles: We are currently working on a new programme for our juvenile members.  Details to follow shortly.

 

Seniors: Training is now on Sunday mornings at 11am.  Attendance needs to improve.  New players are welcome. Our next league game is away to Clontibret on the 26th of June.

 

Lucky Sqaure: Our lucky square is back in action and there is still a few numbers available so if anyone would like to take part please contact any member of the club.

 

 

Ladies Football:

Training:Training is now every Monday & Wednesday nights at 7.45pm sharp. New players are still very much welcome to come along.

 

Registration: Is now due to be paid and can be given to Pauline Treanor(Morris) at training. Please make it your priority to pay this asap

 

 

 

Liathroid Laimhe:

County Presentation. Remember keep free Friday evening the 1st of June as the county presentation will take place in the Harps Complex at 9:30pm sharp, all county adult winners of all grades must attend to receive their trophies.

Adult County Doubles Championships. Ian Treanor and Eamon Todd take on Sean Clerkin and John Mc Geough from Bawn in the Nov1 Doubles final in a possible date next week, still nothing in finalised yet but when it is texts will be sent out about time and venue if it is too early for the standard notes. NB must be played before 1st of June.

Club Presentation. As the remaining club competition was wrapped up this now allows us to go ahead with our annual club presentation night which will take place on the 23rd of June in St.Mellans, we hope to see all winners and runner-ups out and as many members for a bit of craic.

Feile Na Gael. The Feile na Gael team will soon be called into action, and the team of boys are James Mc Kenna, Gary Mc Kenna, Aaron Mohan, Ryan Mohan, Gary Mohan and Cormac Mc Kenna, so keep practising and keep in shape for the national competition.

Summer Play. As many club members as possible should avail of the free lighting in the alleys during some slightly summery evenings, remember parents get them in to the alleys during the wet evenings.
