Seniors: We played 2 away games in the senior league over the weekend and came away with 1 poitn from our efforts. On Friday last we played Latton and lost 1-2 to 0-10. We were kept scoreless in the 1st half and were 0-0 to 0-6 down at the break. Latton increased this lead to 9 points before we registered our first score of the game in the 39th minute with a Niall Coyle goal. Latton hit another point in the 43rd minute before we scored the last 2 points of a very disappointing game to finish the match Latton 0-10 Gaeil Triucha 1-2. Our team and scorers were: Ian Treanor; Justin Halligan, Niall Feely, Aidan Coyle; Rory Treanor, Damian McRory, Paudie McKenna (0-1); Pauric Treanor, Niall McQuillan; Niall Coyle (1-0), Mark Counihan , Daniel McKenna; Christopher McKenna (0-1), Neil McRory, Daniel Finnegan. Subs Used: Gary Todd for Daniel Finnegan (HT). We then took on Clontibret on Sunday evening. Despite being played in near winter conditions, it was an enthralling match were we secured a league point with a last minute equaliser, 2-8 to 1-11. The first score of the game came from Adam Treanor when he found the net in the 3rd minute. We enjoyed most of the possession in the next 15 minutes and were 1-4 to 0-3 up in the 19th minute with points from Daniel McKenna, Eoghan Kelly & 2 from Paudie McKenna. It was the home side who finished stronger though, scoring 1-3 without reply in the remainder of the 1st half to leave us behind 1-4 to 1-6 at the break. Clontibret extending their lead on the restart before Chrissy McKenna converted a free. Clontibret added another point before Mark Counihan capitalised on an error in the Clontibret defence to be hauled down and win a penalty in the 43rd minute. Counihan lifted himself from the ground to take it and duly converted to level the scores at 2-5 to 1-8. Clontibret re-took the lead a minute later before Chrissy McKenna scored a massive 45m to level the scores again with 10 minutes remaining. The home side pulled 2 points ahead, converting 2 frees with only 5 minutes left. Late points from Daniel McKenna and Neil McRory levelled the match going into injury time. Though both sides had chances to win it at the end, a draw was probably the fair result at 2-8 to 1-11. Our team and scorers were: Ian Treanor; John McCarron, Niall Feely, Darren Todd; Rory Treanor, Damian McRory, Justin Halligan; Pauric Treanor, Niall McQuillan; Niall Coyle, Daniel McKenna (0-2, 1f), Adam Teanor (1-0); Christopher McKenna (0-2, 1f 1x45m), Paudie McKenna (0-2), Eoghan Kelly (0-1).
