B Team: The B team stayed top of Reserve League Division One courtesy of a good win at Truagh last Wednesday night. They face Castleblayney Faughs at Toome in the Semi-Final of the O’Duffy Cup on Friday, June 1st with a 7.45pm throw-in time. The next League game for the B team will be Monaghan Harps away on June 13th.
C Team: A strong fight back from Aghabog wasn’t enough to prevent Scotstown C from booking their place in the last four of the Crawley Cup on Saturday afternoon. In warm and breezy conditions, Scotstown built the platform for their victory with three first half goals, to send them in at the break leading by eight points. Aghabog had the aid of the wind in the second half, but continued to struggle to take the many chances they created. A goal for the home side in the closing minutes brought the Scotstown lead down to three, but the Blues had done enough to progress, and will now meet Sean McDermotts at home in the Semi-Final on June 8th. Scotstown team: Cian Mohan; Niall Corrigan, Fintan Treanor, Conor Boylan; Mark Corrigan (1-0), Damien McKenna, Michael Corrigan; Gavin Turley, Niall McCarville (1-0); Darragh Stirrat, Ciaran Corrigan (0-1), Shane Rice (0-2); Ross McKenna (1-0), Declan McCarville, Adrian Carbin (0-2). Substitutes used: Mark Clerkin, Mark McKenna, Mark Hand, Nessan McCrudden (0-1). There was a dress rehearsal for the Crawley Cup semi-final on Monday evening, when Seans visited Scotstown for a RFL Division Three fixture. The Blues snatched the win in a tight encounter with a late Darragh Stirrat point giving them a 0-11 to 0-10 victory. The next League game is scheduled for next Wednesday, June 6th away to Oram.
