Magheracloone G.A.A.
Lotto . The Lotto draw for the week ending 14th May saw the following numbers being drawn…..7, 14, 17 and 27. The jackpot was not won and four players won fifty euro each in the Lucky Dip. The winners were Sandra Finnegan, c/o Murtagh’s, Michael Jones, Tonnaneave, Lorraine Lambe, Lisnaclea and Jim Carroll, Relaghan.
The next draw will be held on the 21st May in the clubrooms.
Senior League. Magheracloone failed to gain additional points from their two home games played this week and so remain stuck on the five point mark.
Against both Clontibret and Monaghan Harps, goals scored at vital moments proved to be Magheracloone’s undoing and in both games the team was playing catch-up for most of the second half. The team has been affected by both long-term and short-term injuries and with a short break now until after the Ulster championship clash it is hoped that the team will come out refreshed and renewed for the big game in Carrickmacross.
Reserves. It is championship time for the Reserve team on Friday evening with a visit to Latton. The team will be hoping to build on the first round success and is confident of springing a surprise.
Minors. The minor competition continued on Tuesday evening with a trip to Cremartin. The team came out on top once again on a score of 4-11 to 2-15. After a slow start, this team has certainly come good and the prospects for the rest of the season look very positive.
U-12 Day in Cloghan. Last Saturday the U-12 team made their way to Cloghan for the special U-12 day. Despite the unfavourable weather conditions, the standard of football was extremely high and Magheracloone came out on top in their game against Drumhowan.
Congratulations to all involved!!!!
The U-12 leagues will start on Saturday 26th May and in the meantime the team can check out the photos of Finals Day on the Monaghan GAA website.
Ulster Championship. Monaghan’s first outing in this year’s championship is just over a week away with Antrim making the trip to Clones. The throw-in for the senior game is at 3.30 and some very attractive price packages are available for Monaghan fans. The Unreserved Seating and the Terrace is free to Under Sixteens while a number of stand tickets priced at five euro each are available for children. These tickets must be reserved through the County Board.
Meet and Greet. In Cloghan this Sunday the Monaghan fans will get a chance to meet the senior inter- county panel along with the Ladies National League winning team. Come along at 12.30. and bring your cameras and autograph books. A number of skills tests and other competitions will be held for some very attractive prizes. This is an ideal opportunity to get up close to today’s stars in both men’s and ladies’ football.
Kelloggs Cul Camps. Bookings are now being taken for the 2012 Cul Camps. The camps have a new sponsor this year with the Kellogg’s company supporting this very valuable initiative.
The Magheracloone camp will be held from the 23rd to 27th July and the camp co-ordinator is Marty Corey. Further information and the application form can be obtained from the website www.gaa.ie/kelloggsculcamps.
