Lotto . The Lotto draw for the week ending 7th May saw the following numbers being drawn…..7, 9, 16 and 19. The jackpot was not won and four players won fifty euro each in the Lucky Dip. The winners were Sean Smyth, Raferagh, Henry Babington, Killygally, Mark and Cathy O’Reilly, Highfield and Fintan Kellett, Crumlin.
The next draw will be held on the 14th May in the clubrooms.
Senior League. Clontibret were the visitors to Magheracloone on Wednesday evening and Monaghan Harps will make the trip on Sunday in search of senior league points. The throw-in on Sunday is at 2.00 and both teams will be hoping to claim a victory and so stay in contention for the top four places.
After this week’s round of games the senior team have a short break until the 30th May when they make the short journey to face local rivals, Carrickmacross.
Reserves. It was championship time for the Reserve team on Friday evening last when Ballybay were the visitors. After a tight clash the teams finished level at full time but Magheracloone pulled away in extra time to qualify for the quarter final. The final score read 2-19 to 2-14.
It’s back to the league competition for this team on Wednesday 16th with a long trip to face Scotstown. The team will hope to continue their winning ways and will take confidence from the championship result.
Minors. The Magheracloone minor team chalked up another winning performance on Tuesday evening with a four point victory over Truagh on a score of 2-11 to 1-10. This minor team seems to have acquired the winning habit and will hope to continue the trend on next Tuesday when it makes the trip to Cremartin.
U-12 Day in Cloghan. This Saturday, May 12th, is the date for the U-12 Fun competition at Cloghan. Magheracloone are scheduled to face Drumhowan and the teams are asked to be at the venue thirty minutes beforehand.
The emphasis is on Respect and Fun and it is expected that all panel members will play for at least one of the three fifteen minute periods. The organisers are hoping for a large turn-out of parents and families to support and encourage these young players.
Kelloggs Cul Camps. Bookings are now being taken for the 2012 Cul Camps. The camps have a new sponsor this year with the Kellogg’s company supporting this very valuable initiative.
The Magheracloone camp will be held from the 23rd to 27th July and the camp co-ordinator is Marty Corey. Further information and the application form can be obtained from the website www.gaa.ie/kelloggsculcamps. The cost is 55 euro for the first child in a family with reductions for other family members. As usual participants will receive top class coaching for the week along with the usual freebies.
If any club players or coaches would be interested in helping out at these camps they are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to the county Games Development Manager, Paul O’ Connor.
