Senior League.   The Senior League continued last week-end with a visit to Castleblayney. The game was played in Crossmaglen and Magheracloone came away with two valuable league points.  This year’s league competition is proving to be a very tight affair with all teams taking points from each other. The two points gained by Magheracloone may prove to be vital by the end of the season as the top four places are decided.

Magheracloone faces two home games in the next ten days with visits from Clontibret and Monaghan Harps. The team will be hoping to gain some more league points to consolidate their position in the group.

Reserves. It is championship time for the Reserve Team on this Friday evening when the first round of the O Duffy Cup takes place. Magheracloone will host Ballybay and the throw-in is timed for 7. 15. The team would appreciate all your support.

Cumann na mBunscoil. Well done to the boys of Scoil Bhride, Mullaghrafferty who won the county Mini Sevens title on Friday last. They defeated Ballybay, Corracrin and Killeevan in the group stages to set up a final, clash with Edenmore.  The first half was close but the Scoil Bhride team pulled away in the second to win on a scoreline of 3-4 to 1-2.

Team captain, Aidan Carolan, was presented with the trophy amid scenes of great jubilation. The panel of players read as follows: Matthew Kieran, Aidan Carolan, Jack Doogan, Barry Kieran, Liam Og Murray, David Martin, Ryan McNulty, Gary Marron, Jordan Duffy, Ryan Farrelly, Francis Lambe and Daniel Fox.

Minors.  After last week’s exciting victory the minors continued their winning ways on this Tuesday evening with another fine performance in Latton. The final score 2-9 to 0-13. Now that this team has got into the winning habit it will be hoping to claim another victory next Tuesday when Truagh will be the visitors to Magheracloone. The game is due to start at 7.30.p.m.

U-16 Competition. The U-16 team competition is up and running and Magheracloone faced Aughnamullen on Thursday last. The game was very close all through and finished on a controversial note with the referee declaring a one point win for Aughnamullen.  Next up is a home match with Sean McDermotts on Thursday 10th May.
