* Senior Football

We played Truagh at home on Friday evening 11th. Latton played with a strong wind in the first half and worked hard for their scores against a very defensive Truagh team, we kicked some good scores and lead by 6pts at half time. Latton got off to a great start in the second half with two Owen Coyle points in the first five minutes. Truaghs first score of the game came 10 minutes into the second half when they scored a goal from a breaking ball after a great save from Sean Framer. Latton responded well and hit two points to put the game beyond Truaghs reach. In a very sporting game of football all scores came from play. Latton 0-10 Truagh 1-02 Team: & Scorers: S Farmer, K Farrelly, E Lennon (0-1), P Fitzpatrick, S Fitzpatrick , K Duffy, D O’Brien , J, Kingston (0-1), A Farmer (0-3) ,  O Coyle (2-0), T Connolly (0-1), P, Shannon O Duffy (0-2), S McElroy , S, Coyle. Subs used: J Nixon, D Duffy, V-CURRIN

On Sunday 13th Latton travelled to Scotshouse to play Currin in the first ever meeting off the two clubs at senior level. Dismal weather in Scotshouse along with a dismal performance saw us go down by 2 points to the senior newcomers. A hungrier, more determined Currin put in a gutsy first half shift despite being against a very strong wind. This was to prove the winning of the game as Latton failed to fully capitalise from the breeze, leaving the half-time score Currin 4 Latton 5. The second half saw Currin further rise to the occasion notching up 4 more points to Lattons solitary point. The game lacked footballing quality from the start & with takles flying there was inevitably a red card shown to both sides with the dismissal of Stephen Fitzpatrick & Dick Clerkin. In a performance to forget we wish speedy recoveries to both Thomas Connolly & Jason Nixon who both picked up injuries on the day. Team & Scorers: S.Farmer, K.Farrelly, E.Lennon, P.Fitzpatrick, S.Fitzpatrick (1pt), K.Duffy, J.Nixon, J.Kingston, D.O’Brien(c), K.Conlan, O.Coyle (1pt), P.Shannon, O.Duffy (4pts), S.McElroy, D.Duffy. Subs: P.Conlan for J.Nixon (inj), D.McElroy for P.Shannon, J.McElroy for D.Duffy. Currin 0-8 Latton 0-6
