Junior B – The Bs qualified for the semi-finals of the O’Duffy Cup on Sunday after an entertaining victory over Corduff at Oram. They recovered from a very poor start with a barrage of goals in the 2nd quarter to lead by 5 at the interval. After the break the lead grew to 9 before Corduff rallied and a late penalty from them left the final score 5-12 to 4-10 in Blayneys favour. The star of the show was undoubtedly Ciaran McGinn who contributed a personal tally of 4-3. A busy period for Bs continued with a league game last night (Wednesday) and tomorrow they travel to Clontibret for another league fixture.
Seniors – The seniors are away to Scotstown next Wednesday night with an 8PM throw-in
Junior C – The Cs are playing Emyvale this Saturday in Toome with a 7PM throw-in.
Minors – The minors went down 3-13 to 1-09 to Scotstown on Tuesday last in their final league game before the exam break. The teams were evenly matched for three quarters of the game and it was only when Scotstown grabbed two quick goals late on that they seized the initiative and ran out comfortable winners.
Lotto – There was no winner of the €11,000 Jackpot in Mondays nights draw. The four lucky dip winners this week, each receiving a prize of €50 were Pete Devlin, Culloville, Claire Meegan, Broomfield, M. Kelly, Castleblayney and Teresa Markin, Laurel Hill. The numbers drawn were 17, 19, 20 and 27. Next week’s draw will take place on Monday night the 28th May and tickets can be purchased from localotto.ie or outside Centra in the Glencarn Shopping Centre.
Monaghan County Ulster Championship – The very best of luck to Ciaran Hanratty and the rest of the Monaghan Team for Sunday and also our two representatives on the minor panel Barry Hanratty and Fergal Malone.
Juvenile Training Programme – The programme continues this Thursday night. U6s are in Rath na nÓg (6PM-6.50PM), U8s on the Astro-Turf (6PM-7PM) and U10 out in the field (7PM-8PM). Gaelic 4 Girls – training continues at the secondary school gym and on the Astro-Turf from 7-8pm on Thursday night. The scheme is aimed at girls of 8 years of age and above. For more details contact Darren McQuillan on 086-3844055.
U16 – The U16s are away to Truagh tonight (Thursday) at 7PM.
U14 – The U14s were defeated 2-17 to 2-07 by Killanny last Saturday.
U12 – The U12s are at home to Rockcorry at 12PM on Saturday.
