Football
Our Junior B team met Ballybay at Emmet Park Friday 25th May. Final score Carrick 0-15 – Ballbay 0-7 .
U12s division 5 team played the first official fixture on the Donaghmoyne road pitch last Friday. They met Monaghan Harps and the result was a draw. Division 1 team met Monaghan Harps, Carrick had a comfortable win. Report to follow.
Senior team meet Magheracloone in the league on 30th May @ 8pm Emmet Park. Come and give all the support you can.
Application has been sent in for grant aid for furtther work on the Donaghmoyne road. Hopefully we will get a positive outcome. The club would like to thank Aidan Birmingham for all his work on the project so far and for the work involved in the grant application.
Hurling
Minors: Congratulations to the Emmet Grattans minor team who beat Cootehill on a scoreline of 2.07 to 2.05 to win the Minor league final. We got off to a great start surging into a 1.03 to nil lead thanks to a goal from Micheal Mc Suibhne. Cootehill then battled back to take the lead late in the game but a late goal strike from Donal Meegan ensured victory for the second year in a row. The winning panel was Niall Butler, Seamus Hayes, Padraig Garland (Capt), Neasan Mc Suibhne, Stephen Crosby, Kevin Crawley, Colm Meegan, Jamie Guinan (0.5), Donal Meegan (1.00), Jamie Dooley (0.1), Gareth Keenan (0.1), Darren O’Reilly, Michael Mc Geeney, Ronan Curran, Micheal Mc Suibhne (1.00), Tadgh Meegan, Colm Hayes, Daniel Mc Gahan. The mentors were Paul Keenan, David Mc Gahan, PJ Boyle.
Seniors: Our senior team start their league campaign with a home game against Truagh this week. We had a disappointing Development league campaign but hopefully its all systems go for the senior league.
Under 14’s: The under 14 team are going very well in the league and are well on course for a semi-final spot. We gave a battling perfprmance when going down by 2.08 to 1.07 to Monaghan Harps on monday night last. We are at home to Truagh next monday evening at 7pm. We have also qualified for the final of the Ulster feile where we will meet Sean Mac Cumhaills of Donegal. This game has not been fixed yet. The panel is Patrick Bermingham, Criodan Curran, Killian Mc Nally, Joe Gillick, Jack Marron, Patrick Mitchell, Oran Kiernan, Ciaran Guinan, Luke Cassidy, Darragh Marron, Killian Hand, Jack Gillick, Fionn O’Callaghan, Luke Mc Kenna, Oisin Wilcox, Dylan Mc Eneaney, Peter Clinton, Caolan Martin, Rowan Mc Mahon, Conor O’Rourke, Cathal Mc Enaney, Breffni Henry.
Under 8’s and 10’s: Coaching continues for under 8’s and 10’s continues every sunday morning and all kids welcome.
