Seniors

Our senior panel continued their preparations at the weekend when they entertained Doohamlet in Scotshouse. On Sunday morning  there was a rumour that Sellafield came under fire from unidentified O Neill’s missiles as our boys ‘caught a few rays’ on the east coast!!

Boxing success

Congratulations to Terry Mc Entee who won a Mid Ulster Boxing Championship last weekend. He now goes on to the National stadium for the All Ireland Finals. We wish him well.

Juvenile and Youth Affairs.

Training and games for the young players continues on Saturdays. Parents are welcome and encouraged to come and help out – no one will be turned away.

Club Merchandise

A limited selection of Club gear is still available from the shop but orders can still be put in as we can receive orders from the suppliers within a week.

Mrs Eily Mai O’Connor, R.I.P.

 

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Mrs Eily Mai O’Connor, Headley’s Bridge, Knocknagoshel, Co Kerry, mother of club member Jim O Connor and grandmother of players, Shane and Thomas, who passed away last week in Kerry.  Currin G.F.C. extend our sympathy to all her family members. Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam uasal.

 

SCOTSHOUSE:

Old time and Ballroom Dancing:  Every Monday evening starting at 9.00pm at the Scotshouse Community Centre.

Bingo: Every Tuesday evening starting at 9.00pm at the Scotshouse Community Centre.

Music:  Every Thursday evening at 7.30pm at the Scotshouse Community Centre. With Pat McCabe.

Congratulations to Arna McEntee and Aiden Rudden on the birth of their baby son Sean Aiden born on Monday 26th March.

Congratulations to Oisin McPhillips  Cillian Martin Terry McEntee and Tommy Monaghan(Smithboro) who have been selected to represent Largy College at the SALTERS FESTIVAL OF CHEMISTRY 2012 in Trinity College Dublin.

Congratulations to Terry  McEntee who won the Mid Ulster Boxing Championship on Sat 24th March in Derrylin and the Ulster Championships on Saturday 31st March in Tyholland.  He now goes on to represent Ulster in the Irish Championships 10th/14th April in the National Stadium Dublin.

Sunday 15th April:  There will be a Cake Sale after 10.00am Mass.  Proceeds to help towards running costs of our Community Centre.  Please support.

Please remember in your prayers Sue Redmond (nee Mc Guirk) who died recently.  Also Mary Fallon, Castlegar, Co. Galway.  May they rest in peace.

St. Enda’s School Enrolment:  Wednesday 18th April in the School from 7pm to 8pm.  Please bring your childs Birth Cert and PPS number.

Hugh McCooey Sein Fein Cumain Scotshouse:   Annual Easter Commemoration on Easter Monday.  Assemble at the Community Centre at 11.45am.Parade starts at 12.00noon.

Scotshouse ICA Guild:  The AGM is to be held on Wednesday 11th April in the Scotshouse Community Centre at 8.30pm.

Connons Racquetball and Handball club:  Anyone interested in joining the Connons Club can contact: Peter McDwyer(Handball) on 086 3260603 and Noel Beggan (Racquetball) on 086 0770415.  An open night is to be arranged at a later date so please keep an eye on further developments on this project in this section.

Badminton continues in Community Centre on Mondays from 8-10pm (Admission €2)

Bowls: Continues every Thursday in the Community Hall from 8-10pm (Admission €2)

Allotment scheme:  Anyone interested in taking part in an Allotment scheme based at the Connons Community Centre can contact Anne on 07564240612 or Sean McCabe on the following hotmail address: connons@hotmail.co.uk
Gardening Classes:  The first class was well attended and Garlic and shallots were planted in the new allotment area beside the Community Centre.  Please note that the next class will take place on Thursday 12th April at 7.30pm  Cost €3 each.  Please come along and support.

Easter Sunday Night:  Connolly’s Lounge Bar – Music – The Unusual Suspects. Come Early to get a good seat.
