County Team

Monaghan take on old rivals Cavan, in the first round of the Ulster Junior Championship  on Sunday next  in Clontibret at 4pm. Only points separated these two teams on previous outings with spectators being kept on a knife edge to the final whistle.  However  Monaghan will have to raise the bar on Sunday next if they are to come away with a win this time round.

Senior Blitz

After two cancellations The Senior Blitz will finally go ahead in Clontibret on Sunday week next 6th May @ 12.30pm.

County Board Meeting

League Results

Clontibret   5 – 4

Inniskeen    1 – 4

Clontibret  continued their good form in the League with another win on Tuesday evening last at the expense of Inniskeen in Gratten Park.  Both teams put all their might into the game    but the skill and fitness of the  Clontibret girls won out in the end. Clontibret lost two girls to injury, namely Karen Boyle and Demi Moen, with Inniskeen also losing one of their midfield pairings.

Castleblayney  7 -12

Truagh               2 – 9

Back in Castleblayney  it was a more one sided affair with Castleblayney availing of every opportunity for scores, and succeeded in netting a goal and 3 points in Amber Lam, Eileen  and Mary Mc. Elroy and Donna Mc. Kenna without reply, within minutes from throw in.

This pattern continued  for ‘Blayney with a barrage of scores from Elaine Mc. Kernan, Niamh Brennan and the aforementioned.

Mairead Mc. Carron, Siobhan Mc. Kenna and Joanne Meehan had to be content with points apiece for Truagh before the half time whistle.

Siobhan Mc Kenna  stamped her name on an early point in the second half for Truagh but again ‘Blayney’s Kate Deasy, Brennan, Mc. Kenna, and Lam returned to their winning formula with the green and white flag being raised on several occasions.

With the Truagh team being rejigged somewhat, Mc. Kenna, Meehan and Mc. Carron reduced the deficit but a little too late and ‘Blaney secured 2 more points in the League.
