Handball:

Hard luck to Casey Treanor who was competing at the Ulster Juvenile Finals in Kingscourt last Saturday. In the girls U16 singles final she was defeated by Aoife McConville from Armagh. Meanwhile, Conor Leonard’s final in the U14 boy’s singles is to be played in Scotstown later this week as his opponent Sean Kerr from Tyrone was injured on Saturday. We wish Conor the best of luck in the final. Hard luck also to Brendan Finan and Sean Mohan who were both defeated in the Junior and Minor county finals respectively at the weekend.

Juvenile Handball:

The Juvenile Handball League Group 1 for the Evelyn Mohan Memorial Shield reached a conclusion on Monday night. Ciaran Treanor defeated Conor Leonard 5 – 15, 15 – 13 and 15 – 12 in the first semi-final in what was a cracking match. In the other semi-final Gary Holohan played Sean Mohan, and this was another epic three game battle with Gary eventually winning 15 – 12, 11 – 15 and 15 -10. In the final Gary played Ciaran Treanor and after another good match, Gary won 15 – 9 and 15 – 7 to win the Shield. Well done to all 12 players who played in this League Division – the standard is improving all the time. Next up is the Group 3 semi-finals between Conor McMahon v Killian Sherry and Ronan King v Liam McCague.
