Notes for March 27th

The club lotto takes place every Monday night in the Centre.  We our inviting people to subscribe to our annual lotto ticket for the year. Forms are available from any committee member.  Last weeks numbers were 8,14,20,28.  Sean Mooney 50e, Eilis Farrell 20e, Phyllis Gormley 20e, James Capaldi 10e.  Jackpot €6,800 next week.

U6/8/10 FOOTBALL TRAINING

Training has resumed in Emmet Park on Friday evenings at 5.30 for U6s, U8s and U10s.  All school going boys from age 5 welcome.  2euro per child.

 

U10 COMMUNITY GAMES FOOTBALL TEAM

Well done to our U10 community games gaelic football team who won their first game in the competition on Friday night last under lights at Emmet Park.  It was a tough encounter against Inniskeen who had beaten us in last years competition.  We wish the team and their mentors Sharon and Stephen O Rourke continued success in the rest of their games.

 

DINNER DANCE AND PRESENTATION NIGHT

A great night was had by the large crowd who attended our annual dinner dance in the Shirley Arms last weekend.  MC for the night was Joe O Hara who entertained the crowd with his usual wittiness.  Awards presented on the night were as follows;  Senior Player of the year 2011 Stephen Gollogly, Junior Player of the year 2011 Seamus Mulholland,  Special Merit award for services to the club Declan Finnegan.  Our senior team received their intermediate championship and league medals and our minor team received their minor league final medals. Our newlyweds Noel and Majella Swinburne also received a presentation on the night.  There were two Hall of Fame award rerecipientsrian Tully and Paddy Rafferty, two men whose lives have been linked for many years through their love of gaelic football and their support for our club and county team.  Mrs. Kathleen Ryan presented the Dave Ryan Memorial award to the Senior hurler of the year Paul Shannon.  Mrs. Regina Crosby presented the Demo Crosby Memorial award to Young Hurler of the year Kevin Crawley.  Many thanks to the Shirley Arms Hotel, to the band Rubix,  Joe O Hara, to our organising committee, Andrew Capaldi, John McMenamin and to everyone who made this  night the success it was.

 

CARRICK EMMETS “YOUNG STARS” EASTER

Our 3 day GAA Easter camp sponsored by Platinum Tanks will take place in Emmet Park again this year 11th to 13th of April. Cost 20euro per child. Application forms are available in Birdys newsagents. All boys and girls aged 5 to 13 welcome.

 

Christmas Swim-Outstanding Cards

There are a number of Swim cards still outstanding from the Christmas Day swim.  Can any cards and money be lodged to the Credit Union or given to any committee member as soon as possible.
