In the last few years the GAA Community & Health alcohol awareness campaign, Off the Booze…On the Ball, has went from strength to strength.
After extensive work throughout this summer and some exciting developments, the details of which will be announced when the campaign is officially launched in early December, we see the 2015 OTBTB campaign, as having the potential to be the biggest and most successful campaign ever. One of the main reasons for our optimism is the establishment of our County Health & Wellbeing Committees, as we see each committee as being integral in the success of the campaign.
What we are asking the Monaghan Health & Wellbeing Committee to do, is to recruit at least two clubs from the county for OTBOTB ’15. Any club in Monaghan can register, it could even be from the clubs represented on your committee, and if clubs register before November 28th, they will benefit from the provision of promotion packs that will assist clubs in recruiting their members, and make OTBOTB ’15 as successful as possible for everyone involved.
Getting a club from Monaghan to register for OTBOTB ’15 is not a complicated job at all. It’s simply a matter of targeting at least two clubs that will actively engage with the campaign (details of which will be sent to all registered clubs), and getting them to register, ideally before November 28th. Pre-registration is online, and can be done via the form at the link below.

The benefits to a club of getting involved in OTBOTB ’15 are key to the recruitment of clubs, therefore it’s crucial we make them clear to you, one of our key recruitment facilities. So, why should any club get involved in OTBOTB ’15?
· It provides a fun way for clubs in Monaghan to promote healthier lifestyles and even improve performances
· It gives clubs a novel way to raise money
· It gives club an opportunity to win a money can’t buy prize that the whole club can enjoy1
With the help of the Monaghan Health & Wellbeing Committee, we hope to bring Off the Booze…On the Ball to more of our clubs, and in turn more of our members, and in turn make our clubs, our counties and our communities better.
