Adult Ulster Championships. Congratulations to Eamon Todd & Christopher Mc Kenna(PJ) on winning the Ulster Junior “B” Doubles Final Saturday evening last against Down men Sean Digney & Mark Turley, this turned out to be a marathon of a game which lasted over 1 ½ hours. Losing the first game 18-21 was hard to take as they were 18-11 up at one stage, in the second game history almost repeated its self as at one time being 19-6 up they just got over the line 21-19, but the 3rd game it went the other way, with a slow start and 10-15 down they won it also 21-19, this was a good win which displayed the stamina these pair of men have, well done boys yet another Ulster Title for the club.

Juvenile Ulster Championships. We had mixed fortunes in the Ulster end of things for our juveniles last Sunday in Kingscourt. The Mohan Cousin pairing of Ryan & Aaron have reached their second Ulster Final in a row representing the U13 doubles, they dispatched of a Down pairing with some ease in the semi 15-3, 15-1 well done boys. In the U17 Doubles we had less success but still a good showing as Ryan Treanor partnered by Conor Bogue(Tydavnet) lost to Tyrone opposition 21-18, 21-4, never the less this was a good display as this was a new partnership pulled together with short notice as Ryan’s partner pulled out at the last minute, but in the U17 singles we have a happier story as Niall Rooney has made the final, he made short work of his Armagh opponent  on a score line of 21-3, 21-1 well done Niall. In St.Mellans also on Sunday last we had hard luck as our U15 girls Shauna Mc Aree & Nicole Mc Carron lost to Tyrone girls Patricia Mc Donald & Lucy Mc Geary 15-1, 1-15 & 11-15, hard luck girls.

The Ulster Finals are pencilled in for the 11th of March in Kingscourt, all our boys would appreciate as much support on the day as possible.

Adult County Championships. We have yet another 2 new county champions after last weekend, in the U21 grade it was an all club affair with Christopher Mc Kenna(D) taking on Fergal O Neill, on the day Christopher just had too much in the tank for Fergal and he ran out the winner 21-12, 21-7 well done Chrissy. Then in Nov 3 grade Patrick Mc Kenna(PH) beat Tydavnet man Kevin Mc Cague 21-8, 21-9, Patrick just played too high of a tempo for Kevin and his range of shots just couldn’t be answered, well done Patrick.

Our remaining all club Nov4 final between Frank Mc Kenna and Gabriel Mc Aree has been postponed due to a misunderstanding over the grading of Gabriel, hopefully this will be sorted out shortly and this final can be played.

Juvenile County Doubles. Finals are fixed for this Sunday coming the 4th of March in St.Mellans (all grades) alleys opened @10:30am, we have finalists in the U13, U14, U16 and the U17 grades, so get as much practise in this week boys as possible.

Adult County Doubles. Some of the adult grades are at the semi-final stages and we hopefully be contesting more county finals in adults doubles this year again.

Adult Club Championships. The club singles and doubles are nearing Semi-final stages but a few outstanding games are still to be played, please get all un-played games sorted ASAP.

Juvenile Club Leagues. The Juvenile leagues are now reaching a climax and after all games and the semi-finals have been played we may run all finals off on the one evening to add a bit of excitement to the occasion, all will be notified before hand.

Prize Draw. We will be approaching club members if they would be interested in buying a ticket for the handball council, there are some brilliant prizes for the individuals and also for the club, all will be explained before purchasing.
