Monaghan’s senior ladies returned to winning ways in the Ladies NFL Division One on Sunday when a Caoimhe Mohan goal separated them from Meath (1-8 to 0-8) at Tyholland.
Scotstown’s Darren Hughes captained Ulster to a comprehensive 3-16 to 0-13 win over Connacht in the Interprovincial Football Semi-Finals in Sligo on Sunday, while his Monaghan team-mates Vincent Corey (Clontibret) and Owen Lennon (Latton) both came off the bench. Ulster will play Munster in the final, which will be played at the Morgan Athletic Grounds in Armagh this Sunday, February 26 at 2pm.
Castleblayney maintained their unbeaten run in the Ulster Club Senior Football League Group C when they ground out a 0-7 to 0-6 win away to Glenullin from Derry on Saturday. Truagh were also in County Derry on Friday, when they fell to a 1-12 to 2-6 defeat in Slaughtneil. Castleblayney, Truagh and Carrickmacross lost out against Lisbellaw (Fermanagh), Ballymena (Antrim) and Clonguish (Longford) in Divisions 3A, 5A and 5B respectively.
