Awards Night/Dinner Dance
We ended one of the most historical years in our Club’s history in true style and distinction when we celebrated our “Club of the Year” awards night in the Glencarn Hotel on Saturday night last.  The club witnessed one of the largest attendances for any dinner dances they had seen in years which was a testimony to the magnificent achievements that were attained in 2011.  We were very honoured and privileged to have in attendance GAA Ard Stiuritheoir Mr. Pauiric Duffy, County Monaghan Chairman Paul Curran; Fr. Paudge McDonald and Cannon Philip Connolly.

Our MC’s on the night, Treasurer Gary Caville and Chairman Brendan McNally, were outstanding in their roles ensuring that everything ran to schedule in the most professional manner.  The night’s proceedings were opened by honouring our newlyweds for 2011, Brendan and Denise Craven and Donal and Yvonne Boyd.  Following this our triumphant minor championship team were presented with their medals by County Monaghan Chairperson Paul Curran.  Gary paid tribute to the team and management of Declan Bishop and Darren Bishop Michael and Patrick McGuigan.  Declan Bishop also payed tribute to the team.

Chairperson Brendan McNally paid tribute to the late Paddy McVicar, Cremartin and Paddy received a standing ovation from all in attendance which was a very fitting and deserving tribute to a true Cremartin Legend.

Our Hall of Fame Winners were Des Comiskey and Hugh Carragher and were honoured on the night and presented with their Awards.
Our IT team presented a very effective short film on the past year highlighting our achievements in which we all enjoyed reliving the many special events which took place in 2011.  Following this our victorious Double winning Senior Team were presented with their medals by GAA Ard Stiuritheoir Mr. Pauiric Duffy.  Brendan and Gary paid tribute to the team and management of Gerry McCarville, Ciaran McVicar and Maurice Branigan.  Gerry McCarville also paid tribute to the team.

The Senior Player of the Year Perpetual Award and Shield was kindly sponsored by Hugh and Kathleen Branigan.  Congratulations to Damien Lavelle on receiving Senior Player of the Year 2011 and on being the first recipient of this new Perpetual Shield.

Congratulations also goes to Fergal Mulligan on receiving the well deserved Junior Player of the Year award.
Congratulations to our Hall of Fame Winners Des Comiskey and Hugh Carragher.
Congratulations to Michael McGuigan on receiving the very well deserved Club Person of the Year Award for all his hard work with our Juvenile teams.

After the formalities music was provided by Harry Leonard and Gerry McMahon and a great night’s dancing was had by all, however maybe some of the lads should stick to playing football!

We would like to thank the three Annes, Anne Mulligan, Anne Brennan and Anne Branigan who very kindly sponsored the commemorative tie worn by the Senior Team on the night which was very much appreciated by the Team.

We would like to thank Brendan and Gary our MCs, the Minor and Senior Teams and all Award Recipients, Martin our Players Rep and Vincy for organising the draw, Harry Leonard and Gerry McMahon for provided the music, the Glencarn Hotel for their hospitality, Murphy’s videos for all their help, Christy Lappin, Photographer, Brian McGuigan from Simple Signs, and anyone who helped in any way in making our event such a great success.
