Well done to all.
Clontibret
It has been confirmed that Gerry McQuaid, trainer of the Wexford double All-Ireland winning camogie teams -Senior and Intermediate -will present the medals to our senior and under-age players at the Club Presentation event which takes place on Saturday March 3 in the Westenra Arms, Monaghan. This is a great honour for the club and it is hoped that a large crowd will acknowledge the presence of such a renowned trainer. A buffet meal followed by presentations to our U-14, U-16, senior club and county players will precede dancing to ‘Tiger Named Alf’. Tickets are selling well – but don’t leave it too late to book yours!
A reminder that the Clothes Collection takes place today (Thursday). Bags of clothes and linen can be left at (not in) the clothes bank at the football field as early as possible and will be collected later in the evening. All of the money (sterling) raised goes towards paying affiliation and referees fees in the Armagh Leagues so your support is appreciated.
‘Mum Without Me’ continues on Clontibret pitch this Saturday at 4pm. Despite a sleet and snow storm on Saturday last the loyal band of ladies were determined to take to the pitch. Now that’s dedication!! Well done ladies!
Senior training resumed on Friday night last in fairly similar conditions so well done to all those who braved the elements – and the training!! Welcome back to Louise who took leave of absence for a few years to consider her sporting options!! Glad she has returned to camogie with ‘big sister’ Joanne!
Training for under-age players continues each Tuesday evening in the Community Centre at 6pm. Many thanks to Shauna for her help last week.
Congratulations to Karen Boyle who was part of the St. Pat’s team that reached the Purcell Cup final last weekend in Waterford. Unfortunately her side was defeated by a strong team from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. Well done though Karen!
