Enjoy Your Retirement

Firstly, on behalf of the club I would like to extend our best wishes to Donal Guikan who retired from the Garda Siochana last Friday night. Donal and his family were accompanied by work colleagues and friends at a function held in the Errigal Country House, Cootehill and it was a great evening for him and his family as he marked the ending of a thirty-three year career serving various communities. Congratulations Donal on your well-deserved retirement and thank you for the many years of service and we wish you a healthy retirement to enjoy the many years ahead.

Social Night

One of the highlights of the year is our annual social & presentation night and the committee is currently finalising plans to hold the social night on Friday 24th February in St. Mary’s Hall. With good food, good entertainment and most importantly good friends and colleagues to connect with and have some fun this is a night not to be missed. Tickets will be on sale shortly and we look forward to your support.

Sub-Committees

As advised last week the club intends to set-up a number of sub-committees namely Finance, Planning & Field Development, Coaching & Underage Games Development and a Social & Cultural Committee. We are on the lookout for people to take an active role and sit on one of these sub-committees. If anybody is interested in getting involved then please come forward and contact any committee member. Remember, the club cannot operate without plenty of help and we are appealing to people to volunteer their services and help spread the workload.

Juvenile Mentors / Coaches

The club simply cannot operate without plenty of help and we are appealing to people especially parents to volunteer their services to help out with our juvenile teams. I would also encourage current and former players to get involved and help-out to coach our underage players. You may be able to spare one hour on a Saturday morning or one evening per week to supervise a training session, or even help-out at a game. Whatever you can do please come forward and offer your help as we need as many people as possible.
