firstly may I take this opportunity to wish you a very happy and healthy new year and hope that 2012 is good to you.
This is a brief update and reminder on a few items on the GAA Handball Ireland scene with particular reference to the new GAA Handball Show series which starts tonight on TG4.
• The GAA Handball Show series commences tonight (Monday 2nd January) at 8.30pm and will run every Monday night with 2 episodes each night from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. The first two episodes tonight will focus on the National GAA Handball All Star Awards and One Wall Nationals with a number of special behind the scenes features also on schools and clubs such as Mount Talbot Handball Club (Roscommon), St. Colm’s High School (Draperstown) and St. Ciaran’s College (Ballygawley).

• Congratulations to our brilliant young Irish Junior GAA Handball Team which had another hugely successful trip to the USA over Christmas. Managed by Tom Sheridan and Paula Clarke, the team secured the 6 major singles titles on offer courtesy of Killian Carroll (Cork), Catriona Casey (Cork), Colin Crehan (Clare), Lauren O’Riordain (Roscommon), Colin Corbett (Clare) and Ciana Ní Churraoin (Galway).

• The GAA Handball Ireland Office will re-open on Wednesday 4th January and new packs including full details of the new membership scheme, coaching information, details and entry information on forthcoming events, calendar of events in 2012 and details of the World Handball Championships will be issued early next week.
