Monaghan GAA Annual Awards Night

Our Chairman David, on behalf of the club, accepted the Special Merit Award at the Annual GAA awards dinner on Friday night last in the Hillgrove Hotel. Everyone who attended really enjoyed the night.

 

Off the Booze and On the Ball.

Because of the inclement weather conditions not all participants were able to complete the fun run last weekend. The finale of this initiative is rescheduled for this weekend, when the remainder of our volunteers will complete the course.

 

125 Celebration Dinner

SCOTSHOUSE

Bingo as usual on Tuesday evening at 9.00pm in the Scotshouse Community Centre.

Dancing every Monday 9.00 to 11.00 pm in the Scotshouse Community Centre.

Music at 7.30pm  on Thursdays in the Community Centre.

Scotshouse ICA Guild will meet on Wednesday 8th February at 8.30pm in the Community Centre.  There will be a talk on Crochet from Ann Elliott from Rockcorry Guild.  Please also remember to bring your recipe/s for the planned Tidy Towns Cookbook.

Connolly’s Lounge Saturday evening: Traditional Irish Night to be repeated, a large group enjoyed Saturday evenings session with Martin Donoghue.  All Musicians welcome.

Drumcorrin National School in Drum is inviting anyone interested to an open evening in the school on Thursday 9th February at 7.00pm.  Enrolment forms will be available for prospective parents and refreshments will be served.  All welcome.

Scan-Bitz Rally Team:  Daniel McKenna and Andrew Grennan will be racing on Sunday 5th February (this Sunday) in the Galway International. All the best lads.

Aghaabog Ladies G.F.C. On Friday 10th February at 7.30pm we are presenting a set of Jerseys to the Latnamard School girls football in Latnamard School, everyone welcome. There will be lots of fun on the night.  Also that evening we are holding our A.G.M. and we would encourage all players and parents to attend as we need all your support to keep ladies and girls football going in Aghabog.

Introducing to Social Networking: an advice night for parents will be held on 7th February at 7.30pm in Latnamard N.S. This information session is designed to give parents information on what to look out for when children are using facebook. etc.  This is a free night run by the VEC and is open to all in the community and surrounding areas.

Friday 3rd February – Feast of St. Blaise when we have the Blessing of throats.  Candles will be Blessed at Mass at 8.0pm and will be available for sale after Mass.

Church of Ireland Notes:
Mothers Union in Killeevan: Our next meeting will be held on Thursday  9th February.  The theme for the evening is flower arranging.  Mrs Sandra Irwin will inspire us and demonstrate various arrangements.  For more information please contact Mrs Eileen McAdoo, tel. 047-54148

Coffee – tea morning.  Welcome to the rectory on Friday the 24th February between 10.30 am and 12.30pm.  Speaker to be confirmed.  The morning is in aid of Breast Cancer Research.
