Juvenile Presentation

We had a very successful Juvenile Presentation Night last Sunday. Cathal Hand, Monaghan Youth Officer, spoke powerfully to our young players about the awareness of alcohol and drugs. The u14 footballers and u16 hurlers collected their medals for 2011. The inaugural award for Most Improved Juvenile Footballer 2011 went to Gerard Gorman who was congratulated on his achievement. Also nominated for the award were Connor Molloy, David Ward, Peter Fitzpatrick & Ryan O’Neill. A special thank you to Paul Casey for bringing Sam Maguire down from Dublin to help make it a memorable night for all who attended.  A special thank you also to Philip Fitzpatrick Photography for capturing the moment and being able to print off the photo of the players with Sam Maguire on the night and distributing it among them. Philip took a lot of other photographs on the night so please contact him on 0861683832 to receive your copy of the magic moment.

Nursery

We are now planning our nursery programme for the months ahead. Anyone interested in helping out in any way with this please contact Fergal Mone on 0872242726. It’s very important that there is plenty of help so we are not over reliant on a small group. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Fixtures

The fixtures for the coming year have yet to be finalised but it is expected that Reserve football will begin in March with senior football expected to begin in April.

Registration

Registration is now due and all players and members must be registered immediately and should arrange to pay their annual subscription to registrar, Thomas Greenan.

Senior & Minor Presentation

The successful senior and minor footballers will be presented with their medals on Sunday, 18th March. Keep this date free.

Sympathy

The club extends sympathy to the relatives of the late Gene (Big Sam) Treanor, Scotstown, who was a regular visitor to O’Neill Park over the years as juvenile mentor, umpire and bus driver, often all at the same time. Ar dheis Dé go rabih a anam.
