Castleblayney Notes

By michael Tue 31st Jan

St Marys Park Development Launch Night It was to a packed house that the Castleblayney Faughs launched their major development project for St Mary’s Park and their innovative fund raising scheme Cairde Fág An Bealach which was received very well by all in attendance. The development will see a new Prunty Pitch in place and a major stand that will seat 2,080 spectators under cover plus 5,000 uncovered seating and all of the ancillary infrastructure that is also part and parcel of the development. The big attendance in the Glencarn Hotel was an indication of the interest and support there is within the community for this major development. Among the attendance were players, former players, local business people, members of the Oireachtas and local representative members of the Co. Committee as well as many members of the general public.

Cairde Fág An Bealach – As mentioned above the Club are now embarking on raising €150,000 through a new innovative fund raising scheme which will facilitate Faughs supporters and the local community in making a financial contribution to the St Marys Park development. The scheme will be known as Cairde Fág An Bealach. There are two levels of contribution. People can commit €240 per year either as one yearly payment or a monthly payment of €20 per month. This will give the subscribers a special jacket and membership of the newly revamped lotto with major weekly prizes. Alternatively people can commit to paying €120 per year either by one yearly payment or a monthly payment of €10 per month. This will exclude membership of the new lotto. Anyone interested in becoming a member can contact Club Trerasurer Bob O Donnell on 087-6025027 or any committee member.
