AGM – There was a large attendance at the Faughs AGM on Thursday night last. Outgoing Chairman Michael Conlon didn’t seek re-election and received many plaudits for the work done during his tenure. The election of officers was as follows Chairman: Stephen Dignam, Vice-Chair: Pete McMahon, Secretary: Melissa Conlon, Assistant Secretary: Michael Conlon, Treasurer: John O Donnell, Development Officer: Sean McDonald, Youth Officer: Brian Sherry, Coaching Officer: Mark O’Connor and Cultural Officer: Cathriona Greene. Many thanks also to Fr Walshe for the beautiful mass he gave prior to the meeting.

Operation Transformation – Monaghan Sports Partnership and the Irish Sports Council have linked up with RTE’s ‘Operation Transformation’  tv programme to transform the masses – by holding an ‘Operation Transformation National Walk Day’ in Castleblayney on Saturday next 14th January at 11am. The walk will commence from the bridge at the Black Island and is suitable for people of all levels of fitness with a 4km route and also a more challenging one of 7km. The event attracted 35 people but its hoped to attract many more this year. This is the ideal chance for you Operation TransFAUGHmation people to blow off those Christmas cobwebs with a group session.
St Marys Park Development – The date for the St Marys Park Development launch night has been confirmed as Thursday 26th January in the Glencarn Hotel at 8PM. The night will serve as an information night in terms of the development for both club members and indeed the town as a whole. Speaker on the night will include officials of the club, Paraic Duffy, Ard Stiúrthóir of the GAA and Monaghan County board chairman Paul Curran. Refreshments will also be available at the launch and the evening is open to everyone to attend.
