New Years Eve Party: Ring in the new year in the new lounge at St Mellans. Food served and dancing to late to music by the excellent and lively ‘Renegade’. Guaranteed to be a great night. Doors open from 9pm. Special recession beating bar prices, with all drinks €3 each, throughout the night. Courtesy bus available.

Nollaig Shona: Gaeil Triucha would like to wish a Christmas and a prosperous new year to all our players, coaches, members and supporters. We also thank everyone associated with the club for their continued involvement and hard work of a successful 2011 for Gaeil Triucha CLG.

AGM: The Club’s AGM took place last Friday in St. Mellans. The AGM was attended by 108 club members, more than double the amount that attended last year. The following patrons were returned as Presidents- Fr. Macartan McQuaid, Jimmy Treanor & Mary Corrigan. The returned Vice Presidents were Annie Treanor, Pat McKenna, Johnny Skinnader, John James Daly, Johnny McQuaid, Jim Pat McKenna & Owen Skinnader. The following officers were returned: Chairman-Raymond Treanor, Vice Chairman-Gary Meehan, Secretary-Not filled, Asst. Secretary- Kieran McKenna (newly appointed), Treasurer-Bernard Treanor (newly appointed), Asst. Treasurer- Michael Treanor (newly appointed), PRO-Adrian Sherry, Registrar-Brian Rafferty (newly appointed), Player Rep.-John Treanor (newly appointed), Handball Rep.-Kevin Treanor, Ladies Football Rep.-Ursula McKenna, Hurling Rep.-Pronsias McKenna, Camogie Rep.-Majella McKenna. Those voted onto the club committee were Niall McCarron,  Gerard Treanor, Francis Treanor, Brian Treanor, Michael Treanor (B), Martin Woods, Stephen Mohan, Josie Brady, Roisin Donaghue, Pat Meehan, Peader McGee, Michael Corrigan, Joe McMeel, Eugene Treanor, Niall Keenan, Kieran McGinn, Michael Treanor (C).

Christmas Party Night: A great night was had at the Christmas party night last weekend. Thanks to the catering committee for the splendid food served up. Rico’s Groove played their live set after the meal and were very well received.

Bar opening times: St. Mellans will open normal hours this Thurs/Fri/Sat.

Charity Match: A charity football match is being organised for next Friday week, 30th December, in St. Mellans. More info next week and on the club website and our twitter page, @truaghgaels.

Strictly DVDs: are now available to purchase and are available to buy at most local stores as well as St. Mellans for €15. Ideal stocking fillers.

Lotto Jackpot now €2800: There was no winners of last weeks jackpot. The numbers were: 8, 19, 20, 22. There was 1 match 3, receiving €200: Maggie Deery-Mullaghbyran. Sellers Prize: Frank Treanor (Crush) & Brian Treanor. Next jackpot draw on January 8th. Check team: Josie’s. Happy Christmas to all our lotto buyers from the committee.

Club Shop: The club shop is opening an extra day next Tuesday 7-8pm as well as each Friday evening between 7-8pm. Ideal gifts for Christmas for all ages.

Camogie:

Juveniles: There will be no juvenile training until further notice.

Seniors: Senior training will resume on the 13th of January. This will be held indoors for a few weeks. New players are welcome.
Ladies Football:

A.G.M: Our annual A.G.M will take place on Friday 20th January 2012 at 8pm in St.Mellans. We encourage all new & old faces to attend .

 

Handball:

Mono Team League. The Mono League has now reached it’s climax and we may have to play a play-off match this week to decide what teams will be contesting the semi’s possibly tomorrow night (Thursday) so all captains will be notified via text so it is vital that all your team is ready, this match must be played on the night, we also hope to play the semi-finals and the Final between Christmas and the New year there will be no standard notes for this so all will be informed via texts.

Juveniles. All coaching has ended for the year after last week, we hope to start up leagues after the new year for the all juveniles but all will be notified before it kicks off so coaching sessions start up again on January the 2nd as per normal.

Christmas Presents. Any last minute Christmas presents needed why not try some handball gear, Gloves, Balls, Goggles and Jerseys available in the shop, its open Friday evenings 7-8pm.

The Handball Committee would like to wish everyone in the parish and further afield a very Merry Christmas and very Happy New Year and hope to see all back healthy and well in 2012.
