Lotto draw takes place in the clubhouse every Sunday night. All welcome.

U-15: Well done to the club’s Under-15s who won the Benny Connolly shield competition in Emyvale last Saturday, beating Truagh in the final. Thanks again to the players and management for their hard work in what has been a long season.

Mr. & Mrs.: Just nine days remain until the club’s next fundraiser, which is a ‘Mr. & Mrs.’ Night in the clubhouse on Saturday week, November 12. All sections of the club will be represented on the night, which will have an admission fee of €10 and is set to be a great occasion for all the family. All club members are asked to support.

Street League: The club’s Under-13 street league continues this Friday in Gavan Duffy Park at 6.30pm. All footballers aged between 11 and 13 are encouraged to attend.

Scór Spraoi: Well done to our young members who did the club proud at Scór Spraoi in the Tullycorbet Community Centre last Friday.

Congratulations: To St. Mary’s Boys National School, Monaghan on winning the Cumann na mBunscol Division One cup. The team was backboned by Harps players, including team captain Thomas Croarkin, so well done to all involved.

Coaching: Level 1 Youth & Adult Football Coaching Course takes place on November 4/5 & 11/12 in Cloghan. Tutors for the course, which costs €55, will be Garrett Coyle & Michael Henry. An impressive line-up of coaches and tutors will take part in a Football Coaching Conference at St. Macartan’s College on Saturday, November 26. The conference objective, which costs €10 or €30 for four from one club, aims to provide quality information and innovative methods of delivery for coaches working with players from 6 to 16 years of age.

AGM: Our Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday, November 27 at 3pm. Club members are asked to keep this date free if possible.

Clubhouse: It’s a busy time for the Gavan Duffy Park clubhouse. As well as the ‘Mr. & Mrs.’ night, we are pleased to welcome well-known Monaghan-born singer Gloria to Rooskey on Saturday, December 3. The clubhouse, which offers fully-lighted lounge and function-room and ample car-parking space, is also available to book for parties and functions, by contacting Liadhan Treanor at 086 7837204.

Kids’ disco: Thanks to everyone who attended or helped out at the Halloween fancy-dress juvenile disco in the clubhouse last Friday, particularly to Liadhan and to Dylan Maxwell, who stepped in at fairly short notice to DJ.

JobBridge: The first phase of internships as part of the GAA/JobBridge scheme is now up and running. Please visit our club website for full details.

Handball: There was no luck for Conor McDonnell or Terry McElvaney at the Golden Gloves tournament in Belfast last week. Ramunas faces the long journey to Leixlip on Sunday to play a Mayo opponent in the preliminary round of the Junior Nationals. He will compete in the highly competitive A grade at Under-15 level. Our Challenger One league got off to a great start with a terrific match between Tiernan O’Rourke and Ryan Myles. Tiernan came from behind to record a close win and he then followed up by defeating Scott Cooney. Our Under-11 players are training hard for the Nationals in Kilkenny.

Twitter: Our twitter page is a good way of keeping in touch with club news. We are still playing catch-up on other local clubs, so get following @MonaghanHarps!
