Doohamlet GFC Notes

AGM: Our annual convention of the club will be held on Sunday 27^th November 2011 in the Clubrooms at 11.30am. The nomination forms are currently being delivered and must be returned to John Doran, Pat King or Eamon Connolly on or before Sunday 20^th November.

Under 14: A good turnout of sixteen players enjoyed taking part in the well organised juvenile tournament at Toome recently.  The team were defeated 6-12 to 4-13 by Cremartin in the semi-final but had the consolation of beating Inniskeen 5-09 to 2-09 to win the Brian Ruddy Memorial Shield.  Thanks to the Toome club for the invitation to the tournament.

Juvenile Tournament: The curtain came down on the juvenile playing season when the final matches were played in our juvenile tournament on Bank Holiday Monday.  With Tyrone being unable to field Donegal defeated Armagh in the first semi-final on a score of 5-05 to 4-3.  In the second semi-final Monaghan overcame Armagh 3-07 1-01.  The Monaghan team finished as competition winners when a good start in the final resulted in them defeating Donegal 5-05 to 3-03.

Well done to all the boys and girls who participated in the tournament.  The standard of football was of the biggest order during the nine games played and all enjoyed themselves playing in a fun environment.  It is hoped to give due recognition to the players at a presentation night at a later date.
