Ulster Club Championship
Clontibret make history when they take part in the Ulster Club Championship, Bridie McMenamin Shield, on Sunday next, when they become the first camogie club from Monaghan to reach this stage of the competition. They meet Cavan Champions, Castletara at Tattyreagh, Co Tyrone on Sunday at 2pm. The final which was originally fixed for early October was held up due to a dispute within the Cavan Board which thankfully has been resolved. Aidan Kerr and Geraldine Clarke have the Clontibret girls well prepared and motivated for the Final which promises to be a great match
“Taste of the World”
All roads lead to the Glencarn Hotel, Castleblayney, to night Thursday for the experience of a lifetime when Top Chefs from various Restaurants will demonstrate their culinary arts and expertise when they whip up some tasty dishes to whet the appetite .
Chefs include Kevin Dryne from the Glencarn itself, Kam Lam from Royal Jade in Castleblayney, Carrickmacross and Newry, and Romina from La Cantina in River Lane Dundalk – an Italian restaurant. Food exhibitors include Mulberry Meadow Organic Farm (Marti Brennan), Pollock’s Pickles, McArdle Meats who are launching a new range of low-fat meats, Cake and Crumb (gluten-free bakes), Mary’s Home Baking, Sinead Townsend (Cake decorating), Kashmere Kitchen (mouth-watering tray bakes), Puddleduck Lane (home-made jams and preserves) and Kirk’s Seafood and an exibit from the pampered chef collection. A cocktail maker will also rustle up some manageable drinks for Christmas entertaining and there will be wine-tasting as well as a mulled wine reception at 7pm and a raffle for some of the lovely products on view. ‘Scentsy Wickless Candles’will also have an exhibition of their beautiful candles.
Camogie Bursary applications.
CCAO along with An Cumann Camógaíochta are delighted to announce this years 3rd level Camogie Bursaries.
Applications must be returned fully completed to scholarships@ccao.ie by 5pm Friday November the 4th 2011, by e-mail. No late applications will be accepted.
Applicants for bursaries must fulfil the following criteria to be considered:
Bursaries are open to Undergraduates at 3rd level colleges affiliated to CCAO.
Applicants must be a member of college camogie club & registered with CCAO.
Have played minimum U16/Minor inter-county (Senior or Junior).
Must not be in receipt of a scholarship or bursary in this academic year.
Must be available to play for college team.
Must be willing to carry out duties as assigned by CCAO Executive.
Bursary applications will be shortlisted by a panel of Representatives from CCAO & An Cumann Camógaíochta Management.
Responsibility for awarding bursaries rest with the panel. Their decision will be final.

Finance Manager
The Camogie Association seeks an experienced and dynamic financial accountant to work in its head office at Croke Park. The post holder will report to the Association’s Ard Stiúrthóir. The post will be offered for a seven month contract period.
The primary function of this position will be:
- The management of all financial controls within the Association up to the preparation of the annual accounts for submission to the auditors.
- The development and maintenance of accounting systems and controls within the Association.
- The sourcing of public funding from local, national and European bodies.
The successful candidate will have:
- Professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum 2 years experience in the accounting field.
- Excellent IT and qualitative skills in particular Excel.
- Comprehensive knowledge of an accounting package.
- Knowledge of public funding.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships internally and externally with a variety of people.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- A knowledge of and an interest in sport.
- A highly motivated and positive approach.
