Donaghmoyne regained the Ulster Ladies Club Senior Football Championship with a comfortable win over Termon from Donegal in Sunday’s final, but there was no luck for Inniskeen in the junior final on Saturday, as they lost to Tyrone side Sperrin Óg.
Carrickmacross booked their place in the AIB Ulster Club Intermediate Football Championship semi-finals with a 0-11 to 0-8 win against Tyrone champions Kildress at Omagh on Sunday. Carrick were five points down at one stage, but with Andrew Callan, Stephen Gollogly and Mark Downey in good form, they hit eight unanswered points to secure victory. Cremartin and Shercock must meet again in the Ulster Club JFC first round after they played out a thrilling draw (2-11 to 1-14) at Breffni Park. First-half goals by Kevin Brennan and Conor Mulligan handed Cremartin a five-point lead, but Shercock came back and they looked set to advance when a late goal edged them ahead, but a Barry Carragher free forced extra-time, where the sides still couldn’t be separated. The replay will be in Clones next Sunday.
The Silver Hill Foods Minor Hurling League Final also produced a draw, between Castleblayney and Emmet Grattans, who will replay the fixture in Oram next Saturday.
Scotstown beat Castleblayney in the second Platinum Tanks Reserve Football League Division One semi-final on Sunday, booking their place in next Sunday’s final against Truagh, which will be played in Tyholland.
Meanwhile, St. Macartan’s College, Monaghan were pipped by St. Mary’s, Magherafelt in their opening MacRory Cup game, while Patrician High School, Carrickmacross had a similarly narrow loss against St. Pat’s, Cavan in the MacLarnon Cup.
Truagh have been drawn against Derry champions Glen Watty Grahams, Maghera in the preliminary round of the Northern Bank Ulster Club Minor Football Championship. The game will take place at St. Paul’s, Belfast on Sunday, November 26, with the winners due to play St. Eunan’s, Letterkenny (Donegal) in the quarter-finals on December 11.
