ROCKCORRY G.A.A.
CLUB NOTES
18th October 2011
Monaghan Electrical Intermediate League
Habari everyone, all the way from Mount Kilimanjaro, I hope you are all well.
If you only knew what I had to go through to get these notes sent in this week! I just hope the carrier pigeon I caught reached the Northern Standard office in time! Anyway, I heard from the locals that our senior team put in a decent performance against Donaghmoyne last Saturday (15th October) and secured a hard fought victory on a score-line Rockcorry 2-12 Donaghmoyne 0-14.
We meet Carrickmacross in the semi-final on Sunday, 23rd October 2011 at 2pm in Inniskeen. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Good luck lads.
Come Dine For Rock
Calling all Rock supporters and food lovers everywhere! Take one night Saturday 19th November, invite friends and family, enjoy delicious food, have some craic, add a bottle of your favourite tipple and you have the main ingredients for a wonderful night’s entertainment. People love home cooked food and in these credit crunchy times more and more people are cooking at home and inviting friends over anyway. So why not take it a step further and mimic the hugely popular TV show ‘Come Dine With Me’? If you’re a fan of the hugely popular TV show ‘Come Dine With Me’ you will know the drill. But for those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about the challenge is simple. For our next big fund raising night we our calling on all club members, Rock supporters and food lovers to create a ‘Come Dine With Me’ style event to help raise money for the club. How? I hear you ask. Well, it’s easy to do, simply host a dinner party, tea party, barbeque or any other type of foodie night. Invite family and friends (a minimum of ten) over to enjoy a lovely meal and in return ask your guests for a minimum donation of €10-€20 to support the club, it’s as easy as that! If you know anything about me then you would know that I love to eat fine food and I love to cook, who doesn’t? So please remember it doesn’t have to be an extravagant five course meal or a black tie gala dinner because the choice is entirely up to you. If you would like to host a dinner party then please contact club chairman Jimmy McGeough or club secretary Martina McKeown or indeed any committee member and they will be delighted to talk to you and give you details. Furthermore, everyone who hosts an event will be entered into a fabulous competition for a special prize or prizes so no excuses get involved, be inspired and indulged yourself and your guests.
Rockcorry GAA Annual Yearbook
Any company, individual or family that would like to place a small advertisement or a goodwill notice our annual yearbook can you please contact myself on 086-1041165. Don’t be afraid it’s not going to cost very much maximum €20 or if people would like to take a larger advertisement I would be delighted to talk to you.

Mount Kilimanjaro
Best of luck to our club PRO, Michael Carroll, who is currently climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. The last we heard from Mickey was that he was wet, miserable, tired and missing his nice comfy bed. We would like to wish you the very best of luck during this very challenging journey.
