Latton GFC Notes – Week Beginning October 3rd 2011
* Senior Football
The Seniors drew with Scotstown in the final round of the league on a score line of Latton 0-08 Scotstown 0-08 last Saturday evening. They’ll once again meet Ballybay in the league semi-final on Sunday 16th in Ballybay at 2pm.
In the meantime there’s the ‘small’ matter of the Senior County Championship Final this Sunday in Inniskeen at 3.30pm. We wish the players, management & background team the best of luck in what promises to be a titanic encounter against Scotstown. Win, lose or draw the Centre will be open immediately after the game.
The Reserves battle against relegation came to a positive end as Monaghan Harps failed to field last Sunday. Thankfully, on being awarded the points, we hold on to our Division 1 status in the Reserve League.
* Juvenile Football
The Under-14s went down gallantly against a slightly stronger Eire-Og side in the Final last Saturday morning. Well done to the lads on reaching this climax of their league along with their management team of JJ Doherty, Shane Coyle & Stephen Fitzpatrick. They’ll have learned from an experience which will certainly stand to them in the future. Thanks to parents & supporters for coming along to the games & lending a hand where possible all year.
On County Final day look out for our Under-12 winning captain, Conor McCabe, as he’ll parade their prestigious cup along with other juvenile title winning captains. Hopefully we’ll be bringing home a second cup on the day!
* Replica Latton Jerseys
All sizes available, from child to adult. Orders can be made with Committee members Martina McCabe (086 0670616) or Niamh Quinn (086 8543876).
