Hurling & Camogie Coaching Day 4 Secondar

Over 100 secondary school students took part in a hurling and camogie coaching session on Wednesday 19th October in the County GAA Grounds, Cloghan. The session, designed to promote player development, involved development officers taking students through the basic skills of hurling including catching, ground striking & striking from the hand. The schools were divided into male and female groups and also according to playing ability. The groups then spent 15-20 minutes at each station learning a skill from coaches. The day finished with a mini blitz for all the players. The coaches involved were Colin Malone, Ann McKenna, Gerard Gribben (Regional Camogie Officer), Martin Corey, Stephen Lynch, Alan Ryan, & Ronan McWIlliams (Regional Hurling Development Officer).  In total five schools were represented including Colaiste Oiriall, St. Louis Secondary School Carrickmacross, Inver College, Patrician High School & St. Macartans.
