Drumhowan Club Notes 3.10.11

Under 14s did us proud

Our U-14 team lost out by the narrowest of margins to Killeevan at Scotstown on Saturday last in a very entertaining game that was a credit to both clubs.  The physically stronger Killeevan team took a firm grip of proceedings in the first and second quarters and held a substantial lead as the match entered the third quarter.  However our lads stuck firmly to the task at hand and managed to draw level as the game drew to an exciting finish.  A converted free by Killeevan in the dying seconds of the game was decisive and the west county side took the honours.  This was an outstanding performance by these young lads who did themselves, their parents and the club proud and we congratulate them on a magnificent display.  Our thanks also to their mentors and coaches, Padraig Duffy, Martin Duffy and Anthony Brennan. Team: Cormac Duffy, Niall Duffy,  James McElearney, Ryan Duffy, James Lavelle, Ronan Duffy, Owen Quinn, Micheal Duffy, Finbarr Brennan, Colm McMahon, Jason McEntee, Patrick Duffy, Daniel Tomany, Tom McGuirk, Stefan Farrell

Under 8s Blitz

The club is hosting an U-8s blitz on Saturday next in Mc Keown Park.  The clubs participating in addition to us are Ballybay, Blackhill and Aughnamullen.  Players should be togged out and on the field by 10.10am.  The blitz will end by 12.00 and the children will be ready for collection by then. The club is seeking all the help it can to assist in the running of the blitz, so if you can spare an hour or two on Saturday morning, please come along and lend a hand.

Intermediate League

We are away to Donaghmoyne on Saturday next at 4.00pm in the penultimate game of the season.
