Junior C – The Cs play Aghabog in a league semi-final clash in Aghabog this Sunday at 2PM. Training has been going well so please make the effort to come along and support the team as they try to reach the final of a competition we have never won.

Operation TransFAUGHmation – Last Friday night saw a great night with Janette Keenan getting all those tired limbs well stretched out with an excellent introduction to pilates. Sunday morning saw another invasion of the Black Island for the weekly run/walk.

This week see more new activities, first up on Friday night at 8.15PM in Rath na Og, Charlene Kernan takes a Zumba dancing class. Zumba combines Latin and International music with a fun and effective workout. Word has it that Jazza has been spotted practising his dancing round the living room of the house .On Sunday morning we are going to meet at the Castle gates with Jazza taking the runners and novice runners and putting them through their paces while Stephen Roche (sorry Dignam) will take the cyclists on the Tour de Blayney, this will take around 1 hour so you will all have built up a good appetite for the Sunday lunch. Circuit training continues at Rath na nOg next Tuesday evening at 6.15PM under the watchful eye of Marc Loughman. Upcoming events include a hill-walk at Carlingford on Sunday the 23rd of October and the season finale fun run/walk on Sunday 4th December.

Gaelic4Girls – The Ladies Gaelic Football Association in association with Castleblayney Faughs have commenced an exciting new programme called Gaelic4Girls, aimed at girls between the ages of 9 and 13 yrs. The programme runs on Thursday nights at Our Lady’s Secondary School with newcomers always welcome. The programme will run for 8 weeks from 6.30 p.m. until 7.30 p.m. at a cost of €1.00 per week. Having completed the 8 week programme the girls will be presented with their G4G T-shirt and Certificate and will then come together to participate in a fun Regional Blitz Day on Saturday 26 November 2011. The programme is being co-ordinated by Darren McQuillan (Faughs) 086 63844055 and Eliza Downey (Ladies Gaelic Football Urban Programme Officer) 087 7676704.

Lotto – Lotto numbers for the week ending 04th October 2011 were 06, 12, 19 and 26. There was no Jackpot winner; four ticket matched 3 numbers to win €40 each; Muriel Kerr, Ballybay, Gerry O’Connor, The Crescent, Joann McManus, c/o Juniors Bar and Ben Mac, Clay rd, Keady. Next week’s jackpot is €11,000.
