Link 2b Active –Community Coaching Programme*

Link 2b Active ‘Community Coaching Programme ‘ is designed to increasing opportunities for people who are unemployed to become sports leaders through a series of training courses to enhance their skills and create an opportunity for them to seek part-time / full time employment with sports organisations.
The programme will involve 8 weeks of coaching learning along with eight weeks of voluntary commitment from participants to deliver sports training within community groups – eg. youth, sports, older adult and disability. We are now inviting people who are unemployed to register for the part-time course whereby they can avail of sports coaching leadership training along with information and advice from organisations that provide assistance in various ways for the unemployed.
Course modules will include;
Sports Coaching: GAA, FAI, Rugby, Basketball, Badminton, Athletics, Volleyball, Olympic Handball, Basketball
Non Sports: Active Leadership, Child Protection, First Aid, Disability Awareness, Diversity Awareness
Information & Advice: MABS, FAS AEGIS, Volunteer Centre, CV Preparation and Interview skills

* The Link 2b Active Community Coaching Programme has been advertised for the recruitment of participants in the Northern Standard on Thursday 8th September 2011.
Closing date for application is Friday 23rd September 2011.
Course start date: Monday 10th October
Fee: A course fee of €45 per person will apply (payable on the first morning of the course).
Candidates may be shortlisted for acceptance onto this course. Candidates should have a keen interest in sports coaching and sport development.
