All Ireland Tickets Raffle

Lines are currently on sale for two sets of All Ireland Tickets, plus an overnight in a top Dublin Hotel.  Lines are 5 euros each, which represents very good value for money considering the prize on offer.  As the saying goes, “you cant win unless you’re in”. To ensure that you are in, you should contact any committee member or player who will graciously oblige.  Proceeds are in aid of our Juvenile teams.  Draw will take place in the Community Centre on Monday night next.  All cards should be returned to the treasurer, John Reilly or any committee member not later than 8.00pm on Monday 12th next.

Intermediate League

A poor week for us as we lost out to both Aughnamullen and Eire Og in the fight for survival in the intermediate league, albeit by the narrowest of margins in both cases.  The absence of so many players from last year due to retirements and injury proved too much of a burden to carry in the end. Although the season is not yet over, relegation appears unavoidable.  However, we have proven in the past that we are capable of making a rapid return to the higher grades and hopefully we can do likewise, if not next year, then in the very near future.

Fixtures

We are at home to Currin in the intermediate league on Saturday next. This game is fixed for 3.30pm but may be changed by agreement between both clubs.  Supporters should check with Noel Duffy for confirmation of fixture details.  On Sunday, our reserves  are away to Donaghmoyne at 12.30 pm.

Club Development

A very important meeting of the club will take place on Monday night next, 12th September, in the community centre commencing at 9.00pm.  The purpose of this meeting is to draw up a plan that will chart the club’s development over the next five years. All our members are urgently requested to attend.

Drury’s Centra Supermarket Parish League

The final round of the parish league will take place next week, after which the final pairings will be known.  Our thanks to Drury’s Centra Supermarket for their generous sponsorship of this event.

U-14s

Our U-14s play Killeevan on Saturday next at 12 noon where a win will secure a semi-final place.  Our best wishes are extended to the players and their mentors and hopefully we can progress to the knockout stage of this competition
