Doohamlet GFC Notes

Under 16’s: Hard luck on our under 16 team who lost their league final replay to Blackhill last Saturday.  As in the drawn game it was the concession of two late scores that proved Doohamlets undoing.  A gallant recovery from a ten points half-time deficit had our boys a point up with four minutes remaining.  An equalising point followed by an injury time goal meant we went down on a score of 4.8 to 2.11.

Attention now turns to the championship.  A quarter final defeat of Killeevan on Tuesday last sets up another clash with Blackhill in the semi-final fixed for next week.

Under 14’s: The under 14 team play away to Latton on Saturday at 12 o’clock in the shield semi-final.

Under 12’s: Well done to the under 12 team who finished their season with a 7.12 to 2.11 victory over Eire Og in a tournament final on sports day.  Thanks to Bronagh McMahon who presented the Martin Connolly Memorial Cup to star defender and captain Gareth Duffy.  The team was Shane Leer, John Duffy, Oisin Fee, Sean Markey, Cormac McKenna, Gareth Duffy, Matthew McKenna, Eoin Markey, Oisin O’Neill, Hugh McGinn, Daniel Connolly, Dara Rudden and Killian Walshe.  Sub: Jack Treanor.
