U12s:All roads led to Blackhill last Saturday where the Final of the Dev.3 U12 league took place, and what a match it was! Ballybay knew a pairing with FergalOHanlons was going to be no mean feat.F.O Hanlons were first on the score board putting over a point before Ryan McCann slammed the ball in the net giving Ballybay the edge. However despite another point from Ryan, 1.1 from Conor Monaghan and a goal from Darragh Drury Ballybay trailed by 4 points at half time .Management obviously gave the lads a good talking to because those lads came into the second half with such determination and grit and provided the supporters with a terrific game of football.Ryan McCann clocked up a further 1.4,Matthew Ward 0.1 and Daniel Caraher 0.1 in comparrison to F O Hanlons 2 points. The back line fought tooth and nail to keep the ball out and that determination flowed through to mid field and forwards ending in a much deserved win. Final score Ballybay 4.8 F O Hanlons 4.5. Well dons lads !! Congratulations to the management Tom Mc Skeane,Paddy Linden and Peter Ward , you deserve a well earned rest now .Also thanks to Gussie Forde for kindly sponsoring food for team afterwards in the club rooms, much appreciated Gussie !Many thanks also to all the parents who provided refreshments in the club rooms after the final and for their support throughout the year .This is the second piece of silverware for the juveniles , the u14s having won the Dev.3 Championship back in May,heres hoping theres more to come !!
U14s:The u14s kept up their unbeaten record beating Inniskeen 4.29 to 2.8 Their last league game before semi finals is this Saturday againsi Eire Og . Kick offin Eire Og at 12.00 .All players assemble at school at 11am
U16s:St.Pats once again met Cremartin in the semi final of the championship on Monday evening.Played in terrible weather conditions the lads had obviously bounced back from their defeat by Cremartin in the league, and put in a terrific performance despite being several lads down due to injury or absence. The team were beaten 6.12 to 5.3 but fair play to all who turned out and kept the flag flying !
Happy Holidays to Kiernan and Ann Finlay and family who are away to celebrate Gerry Finlay 60th Birthday.
Well Done to Monaghan Senior Ladies Team on reaching the All Ireland Final in Croke Park.
