A big thank you to all who supported our bingo last Monday night. A donation from the proceeds will be given to the Somalian Famine appeal.
Intermediate League:
On Sunday last we visited Smithboro to play Eire Og in the Intermediate Football League. This turned out to be a prosperous visit as we collected 2 valuable points. Played in excellent conditions our men assumed the ascendency from get go and maintained this stance to the final whistle. The 2 goals in the first half effectively rubberstamped our superiority to which the home team did not recover. With some very cohesive play during the hour we sealed the victory and now look forward to our next League game which will be against Tyholland.
Reserve League:
Our B team take on Scotstown away @ 4:00 on Sunday. We must win our remaining 2 games to have any chance of qualifying for a semi-final place.
Under 14:
Our under14 accomplished themselves well in the under 14 league when they visited Scotstown last Wednesday evening. Going in at the end of the first quarter we trailed seven points to two. In the second quarter we settled and managed to gain some ground on the scoreboard. The gained remained extremely competitive up until the last kick of the game and fortunately we finished the stronger to collect the spoils. These young men are now entering the business end of the season and have their eyes firmly set on a semi-final placing. Effort and application at training has been excellent since March and now is the time step up a gear in order to be in with a chance of some well earned silverware. Well one on your endeavours to date.
Cultural Night:
Our monthly Traditional Irish music session is taking place this Friday, 12th August. This is already promising to be a great night with both junior & more seasoned musicians in the line-up. Session kicks off at 9pm sharp. Any singers/dancers, please feel free to come along. Everyone welcome!
