Reserves: The O’Duffy Cup team travel to Blackhill to play Castleblayney this Friday. It’s the start of a busy week, as we have home games against Truagh next Wednesday and Cremartin next Friday.

U-12: The Under-12 Division One team won an exciting league semi-final at home to Scotstown on Saturday. The lads played some great football in the first half, with Ben Kearns-Flynn’s goal and points by Ben, Oisín Power, James Bourke and Conor McCrystal giving us a 1-7 to 0-3 lead. Ben added a point early in the second half, but Scotstown came back strongly to draw level and it took a late point by Michael Mulligan and a couple of good saves by Dylan McAree to win it for the Harps on a scoreline of 1-9 to 2-5. Anthony Greenan, Nathan O’Donoghue and Colin Peppard all made an impact after coming on in the final third (where the scores aren’t recorded), while Dylan moved up front to good effect, scoring a couple of goals.

Team and scorers: Dylan McAree; Ultan O’Rourke, Naoise Deeney; Niall Ward, James Bourke (0-1); Aidan Burns, Ben Kearns-Flynn (1-4); Ethan Murphy, Conor McCrystal (0-2); Oisín Power (0-1), Thomas Croarkin .

Sub: Michael Mulligan (0-1) for Power.

The Division One Final against Truagh takes place on Saturday week (September 3).

Club Harps: Our ‘Club Harps’ fundraiser is being wrapped up in the next few weeks. We very much appreciate all the valuable support received so far and we ask that anyone who still wishes to contribute do so as soon as they can. A meeting re ‘Club Harps’ takes place in the clubhouse next Monday at 9.30pm.

U-16: An understrength Under-16 team lost out away to Scotstown in the league semi-finals on Thursday.  With a few key players out, our lads were always fighting an uphill battle but they worked very hard and were just three points down at half-time and were unlucky not to be level, having had a penalty saved. Even after conceding a goal in the second half, the Harps kept going and were rewarded by points from Jamie Cassidy and Evan Morahan. A few other chances went untaken, however, and Scotstown won in the end by 1-8 to 0-2.

Team and scorers: Christopher McGonnell; Conor Burns, Mustafa Admed, Ciarán McQuaid; Jamie Cassidy (0-1), Donal McCarthy, Tiarnán Bramley; Niall Treanor, Turlough Clerkin; Pauric Coyle, Jason McHugh, Francis Lynch (Capt.); Ahmed Gamal, Evan Morahan (0-1), Niall Duffy.

Subs: Conor O’Neill for Duffy, John Treanor for Clerkin (inj.), David Carey for Coyle.

The Under-16s start their championship campaign against Latton on Thursday week (September 1).

Minors: The minors lost at home to a strong Castleblayney team last Tuesday. Fearghal McMahon got four points for our lads, while Evan Doherty, Michael Galligan and Benin Devlin were also on target, but Blayney were deserving winners by 1-12 to 0-7. Our minors are due to play their final league game at home to Emyvale on Monday at 7pm – note change of date.

Team and scorers: Ryan Shields; Pauric Murphy, Darren McMahon, Colm Galligan; Conor Forde, Niall Treanor, Anthony Croarkin; Dylan McMahon (Capt.), Michael Galligan (0-1f); Brendan McQuaid, Evan Doherty (0-1f), Benin Devlin (0-1); Paddy Clarke, Fearghal McMahon (0-4, 3f), Aaron Stuart.

Subs: Myles Dwyer for Treanor, Paul Smyth for C Galligan, Shay Deeney for Stuart.

The minors play their last league game at home to Emyvale next Monday – note change of date.
