Rumble on The Railway. Last Weekend saw Rumble on the Railway take the village by storm. Thursday saw the Juveniles of the village take part, with a Treasure Hunt, Table Quiz and Barbeque and Disco afterwards. A great time was had by all. The weekend then carried on with a senior table quiz the following evening, there was a few people scratching their heads at some of the answers but the quizmaster’s answer is always final! Saturday saw the marquee open its doors to people from near and far, as Barry Sinclair and Lightning Strikes provided the entertainment. A crowd this big hasn’t been seen in the village in a long time maybe as far back as when the last train did leave. A great night was had by all with both acts proving a big hit with the punters. The main event was Sunday as Pauric Duffy Director General of the GAA opened the field and complemented the club and its members on the fantastic venue and pointed out the Quality of the work carried out. The day continued with bouncy castles and spud gathering for the younger generation and an old crocks game for the rest of the onlookers. Some old and some not so old players togged out in the famous blue and amber for another time though some are regretting it the next day. The Club would like to take the opportunity to thank all who supported the club over the weekend. People from all sides of every neighbouring community bought tickets to support us and the club is very grateful where it not for this generosity than we could never have started the job that is now finished. Another big thanks to everyone who helped organise the event, from the sweepers, painters, builders, gardeners, the quizmaster, the treasure Hunt organisers, authors, the cleanup crew. Some people may have taken up more than one of these roles and without everyone nothing could have been possible. Go Raibh Maith Agaibh.
