Doohamlet GFC Notes
Senior League: Doohamlet 0-09 Latton 0-14
Another gritty performance same game result, Doohamlet fought gallantly last Saturday against Latton but suffered a five point defeat. The home side dominated the first half and were deserving leaders at half time 0-07 to 0-03. Five different scorers in the first half Ciaran McManus, Colin Walshe, Niall J. Connolly and Mark Murphy all from play and Ted Duffy who was immaculate with his free taking scored three from placed kicks. Our defence were immense turning over Latton possession time and again and this gave ample supply of ball to our forwards.
In the second half Latton hit five unanswered points in the third quarter and Doohamlet were struggling to gain control in the centerfield area. Latton were more accurate in front of goal and ran out five point winners in the end.
Championship: Our Senior football interest now rest solely on the Senior Championship where we play Magheracloone this weekend in Corduff. Doohamlet have had a miserable league campaign to date with injuries to major players having a huge burden on our small panel. After our excellent display against Latton in the first round Doohamlet can look forward to this game and hopefully we can play to our full potential. Good Luck to all concerned.
