Recreational Football
It was a case of what might have been on Saturday last in the final of the Scotstown competition as our Recreational team lost out by four points to Scotstown. This was a game we didn’t give up on as on nine points down going into the final quarter the lads fought hard to turn things around. However, a host of missed chances and some superb saves from the Scotstown keeper ensured victory for the hosts. Best for Clontibret on the day were Cathal Carragher, Aiden Kerr, Willie Moen, David Ward and Gene Gorman. The Truagh Tournament is up next, more details will be sent out by text later this week. The panel was as follows: Gene Gorman, Liam Ward, Cathal Carragher, David Ward, Sean Michael McSkeane, Jonnny Brennan, Aidan Kerr, Shane Magennis, Niall Malone, Declan Moen, Xaiver Coyle, Wayne Leonard (captain), Declan McNamee, Mick Duffy, Gerry Todd, Ciaran Winters, Steven McKenna, Ronan McKenna, Owen Joe McKeown, Kevin McSkeane, Liam Swift, Arthur Hughes.
