Another action-packed weekend of championship football is in store, with two draws and one postponement adding three more games to the schedule, meaning that there are eight games down for decision between Friday and Sunday.
The draw for the next round of the Gormley uPVC Senior Football Championship was made on Saturday evening. In the back door, Magheracloone will play Inniskeen in Aughnamullen next Sunday at 2pm, while the other game between Castleblayney and Truagh is being played later the same day at 5.30 in Clontibret, as the curtain-raiser to Ballybay v Scotstown, which throws in at 7pm. The other winners’ group game sees Clontibret and Latton go head-to-head in Inniskeen on Saturday at 7pm.
At the same time as Clontibret v Latton, Currin and Tyholland replay their McGuigan Builders Intermediate Football Championship game in Scotstown, while Sunday sees Éire Óg and Rockcorry clash in the IFC at Tyholland (2pm). The first floodlit games of this year’s championship take place on Friday night. The rescheduled IFC game between Aughnamullen and Carrickmacross will be played in Inniskeen, while Aghabog and Cremartin meet in the replay of the Gerry’s Takeaway Junior Football Championship semi-final in Emyvale, with both games starting at 8.15 on Friday.
