Latton GFC Notes – Week Beginning July 4th 2011

 

* Lotto
On Sunday July 3rd Numbers drawn were: 10 – 9 – 22 – 1 Bonus No.20. No winner.

THIS WEEKS JACKPOT: €15,400 will be held in Paddy Lynchs Bar, Lisnalong. Thanks for your continued support. The 25-week tickets are on sale from any committee member.

* Senior Football

The Reserves play the winners of Clontibret/Castleblayney in the Championship Semi-Final next Wednesday July 13th in Latton at 7.30pm.

The Seniors produced a terrific performance last Friday in a home victory v Inniskeen on a scoreline of 0-19 to 1-09. Their next league game is this Saturday away v Clontibret at 7pm. They play in Round 1 of the Senior Championship v Doohamlet in Ballybay on Saturday July 23rd at 7.30pm.

 

* Under 21 Football
The Under 21s played their first league game last Monday away v Emyvale. Check elsewhere for result. Next Monday, July 11th they play at home v Killanny at 7.45pm.

 

* Minor Football
The Minors played last Tuesday evening away v Na Fianna. Check elsewhere for result. This was good preparation as they play in the Championship on Tuesday July 19th away, again v Na Fianna.

* Juvenile Football

The Under 14s play their next game away v Inniskeen on Saturday July 16th.
The Under 16s  play this evening, thursday July 7th, away v Sean McDermotts at 7pm.
* Club Sponsorhip
The club wishes to acknowledge the generous sponsorship of Paul Quinn Engineering (PQE) for this season. This finance is greatly appreciated particularly in the current economic climate.

 

* Club Crest
The club is currently reviewing its club crest with a view to designing one that reflects all that Latton O’Rahillys GAA club embodies & represents for everyone in the community. If you’ve any suggestions that could be included in the design please forward your input in the form of an email to secretary.latton.monaghan@gaa.ie


* Soap Box Derby

American Day again proved a wonderful success where the sun shone & huge crowds gathered in what was a great community occasion. Well done to the event organisers & the Soap Box participants for making it a day to remember. A great night was had by all in the centre that night where video re-runs of the day’s events where thoroughly enjoyed.
* Scrap Saturday
This Saturday, July 9th sees our Scrap Saturday fundraiser. We would ask you to donate any old scrap that you may having lying around e.g. kettles, pots, pans & batteries but excluding gas cylinders and fridges. Donations can be left at the central collection point at Latton Centre. Alternatively if you contact Paul Quinn, Ivan Fitzpatrick, or any committee member or footballer, we can arrange personal collection from your home.

* Support Ballybay Cancer Society
Friday July 15th – Wedding of the year! Our own Chairman, aka ‘The Professor’ is marrying ‘The Teacher’! Saturday 16th – Marquee with Karaoke Knights followed by the Fuzzy Burgers. Sunday 17th – Shorts & Shades Disco including BBQ. Please support this worthy fundraiser.

 

* Stag of the Year
The Professors stag takes place in the Centre this Saturday July 9th – We’d ask all red-blooded males in the community to gather in the centre for what will be a most memorable night!

 

* Wedding Congratulations
The club extends best wishes to Owen McGuinness, Carrickaldra & Siobhan McCormill, Ballybay – Stephen McEntee, Latton & Caroline Delaney, Cootehill – Ken Farmer, Mullinault & Kerri-Ann Thornton, Carrickmacross. May they all have many happy days together.
