Doohamlet GFC Notes
Championship: Doohamlet play high flying Latton this Saturday evening in Ballybay in this 1st round Senior championship fixture. Having had a poor league campaign to date Doohamlet will be hoping to play to their first potential against a Latton side that will have big aspirations this year. Hopefully a number of injured players will be fit and we all wish the team and management well. Throw in Ballybay at 7.30pm
Under 15 County 7 a-side Blitz: Our under 15 team put up a gallant performance before losing narrowly to Donaghmoyne in the final of the county 7 a-side blitz held on Friday last. Aughnamullen and Killeevan had been beaten in the group stage to set up a semi-final clash against a strong Killanny side. After a slow start Doohamlet improved to finish as seen point winners. Unfortunately an injury to Barry McGinn in the latter stages of the semi-final had an unsettling effect on the team during the final. Nevertheless the final proved to be highly competitive and it was only towards the end that Donaghmoyne kicked vital scores to win 18 points to 14. Our panel was Jamie Walshe, John Duffy, Ryan Ingram, Barry McGinn, Matthew Byrne, Conor Marray, Damien Ward, Sean Loughman, M.J. O’Connor and Ryan McManus.
Under 16: The under 16 team hope to continue their unbeaten run when they take on Eire Og in a home match this Thursday.
