Sean Mac Diarmada Notes 16-06-11
Fixtures:
Thursday 16th June U-12 Sean’s V Clones @7:30 pm
Tuesday 21st June. U-12 Sean’s V Magheracloone @ 7:30pm
Team Affairs:
Our Intermediate team lost out to Carrickmacross in the Intermediate Championship on Sunday evening last. This was a good performance despite being a couple of regulars short. Conditions were not conducive to playing attractive free flowing football but our men persisted and never let a fancied Carrick outfit out of their site throughout the whole hour. This may get the ball rolling for a couple of very important games over the next few weeks, so that we can creep back up the league table.
Cultural Night:
Our monthly Traditional Irish Music session took place last Friday night in the complex, where we hosted not only our local talent but also musicians from Corcaghan CCE, Monaghan CCE, plus musicians from Clones and further afield.
This was superb night’s entertainment as promised. A huge thank you to all participants, not forgetting the Sean-nós dancers!
So, keep the 2nd Friday free! Next session Friday 8th July, we look forward to seeing you all there!
Minors/Under 16
Our minor squad are taking a well earned rest for the students preparing for the State Examinations. We wish them all the best in their studies and hope to see them flying fit at the end of June when the competition resumes.
Under-12:
Our under 12 team enter the competitive stage of the under 12 league this Thursday evening. They gained division 2 status by virtue of some good performances in the spring league. Hopefully these young players can acquit themselves well as games are coming thick and fast over the next few weeks. We wish them and their mentors all the best in the games to come, and hopefully they will have plenty of vocal support in the coming weeks.

The Co Monaghan branch of the alzheimer’s society are holding a dance in the complex on Friday 17th June. All support appreciated. Music by Easy Touch.
