Seniors – Last night (Wednesday) the seniors played Inniskeen, result and report next week and on Friday night they are in action again with a trip to Monaghan for an 8.00PM throw-in.
Junior B – Last week’s championship match between Blayney and Clontibret was postponed owing to a death in the Clontibret club. The game has been re-fixed for Clontibret next Wednesday night with a 7.30PM throw-in.
U21 – the U21s opened their season with an excellent 3-12 to 1-10 victory over Monaghan Harps on Monday night. Harps were quicker out of the blocks and led by 4 points to 1 after 15 minutes but with Mark Treanor and Ciaran McGinn gradually getting the upper hand at midfield Blayney took over and a hat-trick of goals from the on fire Dermot Malone gave Blayney a 6 point half time lead. There was no let up after the break and a succession of excellent points from Malone (5), Treanor, Lynch and McGinn made the points safe despite a late Monaghan rally. Next Monday night the U21s are away to Aughnamullen at 7.45PM.
Minor – The Minor league continues next Tuesday night with home game against Truagh, throw-in 7.45 in Toome.
Paul Hill Memorial Golf – The family and friends of the late Paul Hill are organising a golf day in his memory on Friday 15th of July at Concra Wood with all proceeds going to the Irish Heart Foundation. There is a timesheet in operation and anyone interested can contact Niall Dignam on 087-9974865 or David O Neill on 086-0579960. There is also a social event lined up on the night in the club-house with everyone welcome.
Cul Camp – This year’s Cul camp visits Blayney from the 11-15th of July and will cater for boys and girls between the ages of 5-13, costs are 55 euro for 1st child, 50 euro for 2nd child, 45 euro for 3rd child. Muckno Mania – It is almost Muckno Mania Festival time again with this year’s festival on from July 15-17. The Faughs are hosting a kids sports day on Saturday, also on Saturday we are putting together some relay teams for the Muckno Mania Triathlon and anyone interest in taking part in any of the disciplines – swimming, running or cycling – can contact Jason Hughes on 086 8194157 to express their interest. A number of people have already signed up to do one of the legs of relay and we are looking for others, particularly swimmers, to fill out another couple of teams. On Sunday as part of the family funday at Lough Muckno several of our players/mentors will be doing a sponsored bungee jump to raise funds for our juveniles, so if you see them with their cards please give generously.
U16 – the U16s were beaten by Clontibret last week and tonight (Thursday) they are home to Sean McDermotts at 7.00PM.
U12 – The U12s are at home to Clontibret this Saturday at 1.15PM.
U10/U8/U6 – Training continues on Thursday evenings at usual times and venues.
Circuit Training – Marc Loughman is running a sculpt class on Saturday mornings in the Scout Hall (8.30-9.15AM). The class is open to men and women; cost is €5. Marc can be contacted at 0879489207.
Lotto – Lotto numbers for the week ending 21st June 2011 were 04, 16, 18 and 21. There was no Jackpot winner; one person matched 3 numbers to win €150; Tish Keenan, Muckno Street. Next week’s jackpot is €11,000.
