Seniors edged past Drumhowan in the I.F.C. on Saturday last in Inniskeen on a scoreline of 0-7 to 0-5. Aughnamullen opened the scoring with a 25 yard free from Eddie Mc Ardle and a fine point from play from Sean Sheridan. Drumhowan got their first score in the 17th minute and levelled the game 3 minutes later. Both sides then swapped points closing in on half time with Aughnamullens coming from Chris Keenan. Just on the stroke of half time Drumhowan hit the front with a point from a free.
Into the second half and Aughnamullen registered the first score in the 16th minute via a free from Lauren Ward. Aughnamullen then went ahead with points from Mark Mc Ardle and Lee Conlon, the latter a fine effort from a tight angle. Drumhowan got their only score of the second half as the game went into injury time but Chris Keenan finished the scoring with a point from play to give Aughnamullen a long overdue win over our near neighbours. Reserves play Truagh on Friday night in Truagh at 7.30pm.
Under 21s first league match is on Monday 27th of June at home to Scotstown at 8pm.
Under 16s are back in action next Thursday night June 23rd away to Cremartin.
Under 14s played Clones on Tuesday of last week and came out on top in a very entertaining match. F/T score Aughnamullen 4-15 Clones 5-11. On Monday night last they were victorious against Latton on a scoreline of Aughnamullen 4-12 Latton 2-11. Under 12s play Ballybay at home on Saturday morning at 12 noon. All players to be there for 11.15am.
Under 6/8/10s boys and girls training continues on Saturday mornings from 10-11am. Anyone with spare time please come along and help out with this group as it is getting bigger every week which is great but for our children to be good at what they do the club needs more hands on deck to help out. Our U8s and 10s have been invited to the Drumhowan sports day next Sunday, June 19th. All players to be in Drumhowan at 2pm. Coaches and Mentors will meet the children there.
Get Your Paint Brush Ready!! The club is looking for everyone within the parish to come together on Saturday June 18th to help tidy up around the clubhouse and playing fields. All volunteers would be greatly appreiciated.
Savage Summer Camp is back again full of fun and frolics running from Monday 11th-Friday 15th of July from 10-2pm everyday in Aughnamullen community centre. This camp is bursting with cookery, sport, art and drama activities to suit every childs creative flair. Contact Martha Duffy on 087 9061275 or Sinead Mc Cabe on 087 9580674 to book your child on this camp. The camp was fully booked last year and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Congratulations to Sean Fox, Shantonagh, on his big win in Paddy Power last week.
Sympathy is extended to the Mc Connell family, Ballytrain, on the death of Jim Cassidy. May he rest in peace.
