SFL: The senior footballers fell to their first defeat of the SFL campaign away to Magheracloone last Friday. Magheracloone raced into a 0-7 to 0-2 lead, but the Harps came back well with points from Donal Hahessy (two), Dean Fanning, Ashley White and Emmett McArdle to close the gap to two at half-time (0-9 to 0-7). Dean’s accurate free-taking kept our lads in contention throughout the second half and the gap was down to a point at one stage inside the last ten minutes, but Magheracloone pulled away again to win by 0-14 to 0-11. The seniors are at home to Truagh on Friday evening.

Aido File: Our Under-14 hurlers booked their place in Féile 2011 on Friday last with a convincing win over Inniskeen in the county final. In a spirited all-round team performance, every player contributed to the cause and left the field on cloud nine. After the game, team captain Seán Husband was presented with the trophy by Seán McKenna, who complimented the skill of the players and the drive to succeed. Seán also mentioned the good work put in by manager Jim Dalton and selectors Mickey and Tommy! The lads now must start preparations to represent Monaghan in Galway at Féile, so best of luck to all the lads and congratulations to all involved.

There will be a one-wall competition in the near future and our outdoor courts will be used. Entries are being accepted now for the Juvenile County Doubles with entries restricted to players who did not represent Monaghan in the Ulster Championships. There are still some places left for the Residential Summer Camp in Gormanston College. Contact our club secretary, Conor, if interested.
